Peter, Carrie, Mac and Carson's Adventures. The tales of a Canadian family in China. Home is where you get your hugs… →. April 3, 2011. Today Carson and Maclean met for the first time. The significance of this event was unfortunately lost on both of them. For Carson, Mac was just another out of focus figure in the room; one who kept a safe distance and did not want to hold him. He was no different than any of the other kids that visited today except he stayed longer. This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Chaff and Grain: 11 Months!
http://siftingchaffandgrain.blogspot.com/2014/06/11-months.html
Wednesday, June 25, 2014. I'm thinking we spent most of your 11th month sleep training - but we've succeeded! You now (usually) take two naps a day - a short one in the late morning, and another longer one later in the afternoon. You finally go to bed at 7:30 without tears. We've even (since your 11th month birthday), transitioned you to your own crib! You sit like this a lot! Always sitting like this.ready for action! Black beans that mom made are your favorite food. Chaff and Grain: more on Audy's Ears
http://siftingchaffandgrain.blogspot.com/2014/05/more-on-audys-ears.html
Tuesday, May 6, 2014. More on Audy's Ears. So it's been a while. Since his tubes, we've seen an audiologist every 6 months for hearing tests. Usually they were very vague, without any definite results. But in the middle of April, Audy was finally old enough to really show which sounds he could and couldn't hear. As a mom sitting behind him in the booth, I could tell that he wasn't hearing certain sounds. And so, we are moving forward with hearing aids. Making New Friends on his first day. We've had the h...

Chaff and Grain: 10 Months
http://siftingchaffandgrain.blogspot.com/2014/06/10-months.html
Tuesday, June 3, 2014. Sleep is the most torturous event in your life right now. You hate sleeping. We've tried oils, music, routine, baths, exhaustion, wearing you, car rides, crying it out, Tylenol.you sleep less than most grown men. Even when you're sick. Naps are pretty unheard of. Bed time is awful! Good thing you are cute! Daddy has more and more fun playing with you. You laugh and play and "run" away from us a lot. First few healthy weeks since October this month! Chaff and Grain: Os' first birthday
http://siftingchaffandgrain.blogspot.com/2014/08/os-first-birthday.html
Thursday, August 14, 2014. We are currently in a familial debate as to how to spell our Oswald's nickname. We'll see. We left for Minnesota just a few days before baby's first birthday. At "A Different Grandma's" we prepped and enjoyed his first birthday with both grandparents (my parents drove out for their vacation.). Audric was our "shark" birthday, and since we called Oz "shamu" while he was in my tummy, we went with that. Our friend Addie and her daughter Julia came! What's this blue stuff?
