Growing Your Homeschool: Should You Join?
http://growingyourhomeschool.blogspot.com/2013/12/should-you-join.html
Monday, December 9, 2013. Staring at the sign, we couldn't believe it. Two choices were before us. Either pay $125 for all six of us to enter the museum and take a guided tour, or. Pay $120 to gain admittance for the day with the guided tour and become members for an entire year. Our membership would allow us to revisit anytime over the following year and take select guided tours for free. We would also receive two guest tickets with our membership. But will we use it? We've joined an art museum for a ye...

Growing Your Homeschool: November 2013

Friday, November 29, 2013. To Break or not to Break? This week, the kids and I traveled over the river and through the woods to Grandma's house! Now, we're snuggled up with family, enjoying our time together and eating too much food. I'm forgoing most of the mega deals this year, so no need to brave the Black Friday crowds. This is the first time, though, that we've gone on a vacation like this and I brought our homeschool stuff with us! Yes, I'm sneaky like that. Why or why not? Friday, November 22, 2013.

Sometimes, I put off teaching something simply because it just seems like too much work or I am not interested in it. The next time that I have no motivation, I hope that I can remember how thankful I am for finding the motivation to teach my girls about Christmas! Tuesday, January 8, 2013. Growing Your Homeschool: October 2013
http://growingyourhomeschool.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Thursday, October 31, 2013. Can you believe that it's November already? God's really been teaching me something this last week or so. It keeps happening. I'm going to write that blog post tomorrow. We'll do that history project tomorrow. We'll clean out the garage tomorrow. Know what happens? Because I do know how to prioritize. God first, family second, everything else below that. And in order to take care of the family, I have to take care of myself. However, there is also a fine line between valid exc...

Friday, May 17, 2013. Breaking Out of the Box (Taking the First Step Away from Boxed Curriculum). Today, we are very excited to have a guest post by Dusty from To the Moon and Back. When I first started homeschooling four years ago, I barely knew anything about the journey that I was about to embark on. I had never expected to educate my children on my own and I didn't know anyone else who did it either. I was all alone in a great big new world. Lost. We began to want to explore and stretch outside of it.

If you are anything like me, you had grand intentions about the fabulous heart-themed activities and crafts you were going to do with your children, but it is now the day before Valentine's Day and you have not done them yet. Wednesday, January 25, 2012. Using the One Room School House Approach. One of the beauties of homeschooling is diversity. Every homeschool operates differently, because every family situation is unique. We are a family of six with children ranging from preschool to seventh grade. For our school days, we use the one room school house approach. Are you curious just how that works? This is a day from our homeschooling journey. A game we have made up using a plastic clock. After a few rounds, I ask him t...
