Milk Bottle Tops: NOOOOO! Thank you, ladies, for all the plastic milk bottle tops you saved over the years, and I'm sure we helped make at least one guide dog! But Chy Noweth an Conteth are no longer collecting them, and Brenda, who was going to be a collection point, will be moving away soon. So I guess if you have any, they go into the recycling. It is offered on a first come, first served, basis. Th e Denman prospectus is with your WI secretary.

Return to Home Page. Two Cooks take Marshgate by Storm! They’re known as Alison Gribble and Rosemary Slee to their friends and family.to their fans they are the amazing Two Cooks (have plastic bag, will travel). And they travelled to Otterham and St Juliot Hall for our November meeting, which was opened to friends, family and our sister. Alison had a present for Rosemary a plastic bag filled with some fairly random groceries. And Rosemary promptly repaid the compliment by giving Alison some of her own.

Return to Home Page. In the 1950s on WI nights village ladies could be seen making their way through the streets, each one carrying her own cup, saucer and plate. One carried a Tilley lamp - there was no electricity in Marshgate in 1951! Members met for the first time in the village schoolroom, then in a member’s farmhouse kitchen.
