I’ve taken to eating delicious, nutritious and non-fattening food. Progress is very slow, because I tend to relapse into bad habits every now and again, but I reckon that makes me just like most people! Nosebag – Towser Cooks. An ordinary bloke's food site. Stuffed Rolled Plaice Fillet. July 4, 2013. This was an attempt at something a bit fancier than yesterday’s sausage! Preheat oven to 180C. To make this, take the skin off a plaice fillet. Mix some diced forestiere mushrooms, roasted peppers and artichoke hearts. Finally, wrap tightly in the foil making sure the fish is completely sealed in. Place in the oven for 20 minutes. I served this with some pasta with basil pesto and some fried vegetables.

I started reading “The Flavour Thesaurus” by Niki Segnit today and was fascinated by the combinations that she suggests. Two were particularly striking: beetroot and capers; and beetroot and beef. These are ingredients I always have in the house and which I never combine. Fortunately it was lunchtime when I read this, so time to eat! Just before serving, I thinly sliced the steak. It is perfect on a day like today when you have no idea whether the skies are going to open and you just don’t want to go outside. This is one of my favourite comfort foods and it is very easy to make. 1 Celeriac, peeled and chopped into small chunks. 1 Leek, chopped. 1 Clove of garlic, crushed. 1 cube of butter (about the size of a dice).
