The region where the MAS is located is steeped in an incredible history. Montbolo is (was) a Catalan village, part of Spanish Catalonia. Barcelona was the capitol of Catalonia until the Treaty of the Pyrenees in 1659, after which the frontiers changed and Montbolo became part of France. We purchased the Mas Vilacèque in February 2000. After looking at ten different properties we always came back to this 500-year-old farm house. Remembering all the restoration over the years, sometimes we wondered if we were crazy, but we must have had a vision.
