Comic & Concept: Classic: February 2013
http://levihoffmeier.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Saturday, February 23, 2013. Over 70,000 profile views. And Beyond. On my DeviantArt Journal. Going to try and keep that and the blog unified from now on. I thought I'd update everyone on my projects and prospects. I've been able to do art a bit more consistently now - especially the main project that was intimidating me for so long: Mayflower. Did not win that contest. That I posted about. The positive note though? Since we didn't pay for out votes - we saw that we had managed to scrounge together a hug...

Comic & Concept: Classic: Shield and Sword: United
http://levihoffmeier.blogspot.com/2012/11/shield-and-sword-united.html
Saturday, November 3, 2012. Shield and Sword: United. On Halo.Bungie.Org. I've been posting design ideas I had for what Halo 4 might have been like for some months now. Obviously, as we've gotten closer to the real thing, the more outdated my scenarios have become, but I still believe that elements of these designs might find their way in, maybe even in future sequels. No matter, it's been fun! But Halo.Bungie.Org. Is on a bit of hiatus, so I'll be posting my final design brainstorms here on my blog.

Comic & Concept: Classic: July 2011

Sunday, July 3, 2011. Anubis, the Comic Book. I'm in the throes of illustrating the first issue of the comic book "Anubis" from creator and writer Sage Howerton. (The final cover is shown on above.). Every interior page has been thumbnailed and laid out and now I'm diving into fully rendering each page. You can see from these images the process of jumping from those initial rough marks to the final interior art, full of texture, color, and life. I hope, at least. :). Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Comic & Concept: Classic: January 2011
http://levihoffmeier.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 13, 2011. The Origins of 'Halo: A Fistful of Arrows'. I've been creating a Halo: Reach-. Inspired web-comic in my free time for the last few months. Recently, I just posted page 23. Which should be around the halfway mark (at the least, I hope). The comic had started out as something I was doodling while waiting for the next Halo multiplayer match to start. Originally, it was going to be between 10 and 15 pages long (around the same length as an older Halo fan-comic. I'll be posting aga...

Comic & Concept: Classic: March 2012
http://levihoffmeier.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 12, 2012. I thought I'd be more active with my blog than lately, and try to do posts of recent, random artwork that doesn't fall into a category of big news, or will be a long time coming before it's added to the portfolio website. I was commissioned to paint a local church for a charity auction. And this is something I doodled after a surprise zoo-visit. Yep. :). Here are some shots of a 3D model I'm working on for the game "The Seeker". Portrait of a character from said game.

Wednesday, February 23, 2011. A much better version of the type of video I was trying to do last time. Watch in HD to really see the change in details. Here's the art that the video shows the making-of. Links to this post. Sunday, February 13, 2011. Bry of Virtuous Sanctum. Commissioned me to do a special piece for him and his friends, depicting their created Elite/Sangheili characters from the Halo universe. Here you can see the piece with some base colors thrown into the sketches. Links to this post.

Comic & Concept: Classic: My Studio Library at the Moment...
http://levihoffmeier.blogspot.com/2012/11/papers-bound-together-that-feature.html
Friday, November 23, 2012. My Studio Library at the Moment. What the title said: books. Specifically, art books. Here's a list of the ones that I've delved into recently and in the past that have assisted me in my goal of taking over the world through funny-books. Keep in mind, even introductory books can continue to help the artist who considers himself proficient, because you simply can't know everything, and sometimes you forget the things you do know. DYNAMIC FIGURE DRAWING by Burne Hogarth. That's a...

Wednesday, February 8, 2012. A Year In Review, Another To Come. This image pretty much sums up the highlights of what I've accomplished in the 1.5 years since graduating college. I think I'm most proud of finishing Halo: A Fistful of Arrows. The largest project I've ever embarked on. Anything that could spawn such rabid support, petitions, soundtracks, etc, is something to be satisfied with, I think. Of course those jobs that actually paid weren't too shabby either. :). Next, I've got to work on.
