My family travels for a year. YAY fun. Sunday, 5 June 2011. I am going to skip Pamukale, Istanbul, Orhaniye, Fethiye, Olympos, Antalya, Goreme, Kyseri and the train for now so that I can catch up. We arrived in Yusufeli at 5 pm. We went for a walk and found lots of pide restaurants. We were not hungry because for lunch when Sam ordered 3 tavuk (chicken) doners (white fluffy bread filled with chicken and some veggies) instead of giving him three half loaves they gave him three full loaves! But the first guy ( the custom's guy) never questioned us and we could have told the bag guy: Yes, we are alone, and I think he would have been fine with that. The hotel we had in Odessa had really good wifi and a little to good air conditioning. The room was tight, but the weather was good so we didn't do much hanging around in the room. A family takes a trip. Monday, May 30, 2011. Upon arrival in Goreme, we searched high and low for a reasonably priced hotel, when we found one, we had lentil soup for breakfast and went to sleep. When we woke up at 2pm we went for a nice walk, had supper and then went back to bed. Photos: Hot air ballooning -a very popular activity;. Does that look like a camel to you? We ended up with tans but we were careful not to burn as we tried to stay out of the sun in the heat of the day. First Mate and Cook;.

A family takes a trip. Tuesday, July 26, 2011. While in Vilnius and Riga, Mhari and I managed to do some amber shopping. We saw some nice things and would have loved to have kept shopping for days but we got a few little treats, did a little Christmas shopping and left it at that. We have seen more amber here in Tallinn but the prices are higher than in Latvia and Lithuania. Other Baltic news or thoughts. I e-mailed from our bus to Tallinn; the buses here have wifi. Gotta love wifi on Estonian buses!

A family takes a trip. Saturday, January 29, 2011. After Ooty, en route to Mysore, we drove through The Mudulamai Nature Park and Tiger Reserve. We didn't see any tigers, but we did see about a dozen elephants. It was nice to see lots of forest and parklands with no litter. The market in Mysore was neat too. We were there last night and were impressed. However, the vendors here are a bit too used to tourists; they are persistent, annoyingly so at times. A travel day and more.
