Ashlyn Gerber: February 2009
http://ltltp.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Monday, February 09, 2009. Swamp Classic - Gainesville Crit. After the races last weekend I was stoked to get out and race again. All of the women categories were together. I have done this race several times. There is a downhill right before the finishing up hill and a small brick section after the first and second turn. There were a couple little bumps around the course but for the most part it's a nice course. I was back in my game. 3 laps to go: I was on Rebecca's wheel. It was getting faster....

Ashlyn Gerber: July 2010
http://ltltp.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 12, 2010. The last race of the spring season passed by a few weeks ago. I was pretty excited to race but I knew the fields would be small. It was one of the hottest weekends ever after 3 straight weekends of races. The womens 3/4 and womens 1,2,3 field managed a combined total of 10 riders. A lot of the big names were gone. I was feeling good. In the warm up my legs weren’t even tired. I was stoked to race and felt confident that I could pull out a win. 1 lap to go: I was ready. I fought...

Ashlyn Gerber: Melbourne Circuit Race
http://ltltp.blogspot.com/2010/07/melbourne-circuit-race.html
Monday, July 12, 2010. Well after a few weeks of down time the races have finally started up again. I had competed in the State Crit as my first cat 2 race but an untimely cold left me with a result that was more than unsatisfying. In the week leading up to the Melbourne weekend I was hungry to race, dying for a win, and stoked out of my mind. The next lap was uneventful. All the girls were looking around waiting for the move to happen. Half way through the 3rd lap it did. Julie went. She...My finish was...

Ashlyn Gerber: March 2009
http://ltltp.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 30, 2009. I was really excited for the Tampa twilight Crit. We have not had a night race in a while so I was super stoked for this one. I started off with the juniors race. The officials gave us an easy lap so we could see the course. It was flat and technical. With 6 corners, cobbles, and a zig-zag (the zig zag was on a one lane, brick road, in the shape of a loose Z.) it was a very intense course. I jumped up and tested everything out. My bike was fine and I escaped with only a couple...

Tuesday, September 23, 2008. Pinellas Park Circuit and St. Joseph Road Race. Well after a long period of hard training after nationals, Florida racing has finally started up again. We kicked the fall season off with a circuit race and a road race. After a good warm up I was ready to race. My legs felt good and I was just excited to be there. The race was basically the same for the entire race. It was fast but the group stayed together. I warmed up with Jackie Kurth (a close friend of mine and a really st...

Ashlyn Gerber: July 2009
http://ltltp.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, July 29, 2009. This year has really flown by. Junior nationals is my biggest targeted event every year. It is exciting as racers around the country pack up their bikes and converge into one town to race for glory. The road race was on Tuesday followed by two days off and then the TT on Friday and the crit Saturday. The field was a little different this year. There were some of the favorites but there were also alot of new faces. Someone went hard on the left but it was quickly chased down....

Ashlyn Gerber: Winter Haven Weekend
http://ltltp.blogspot.com/2010/03/winter-haven-weekend.html
Wednesday, March 31, 2010. After a week off, I was stoked to get out and race. The Winter Haven courses are some of my favorites. The road race course is a little rolling with a long uphill finish and the crit course is a very technical course with 8 turns. I started off with the women 3/4 road race which was combined with the masters 55 and 65 men. We had a good sized field with 12 women and 26 masters. With masters TT champion Dave Viney in the mix, I knew it would e exciting. Once again a good race we...
