How to Get Here. Mersea is in a rural part of North East Essex, but unique in that it's very accessible. Connected to the mainland by a causeway - referred to locally as 'The Strood' - which is occasionally flooded for an hour at high tide (see Tide Tables on right). The event is held at Essex Outdoors - Mersea in Rewsalls Lane, East Mersea. Postcode for your Sat-Nav: CO5 8SX. Ample parking is available at the festival, just follow the signs. The island’s natural beauty has always attracted artists and photographers. Mersea Island Museum Trust will share a glimpse of the 'End of an Era'.
