Greetings and goodbyes (a kiss on the cheek). Bife de chorizo (steak). EVERYTHING IS IN SPANISH. Thursday, June 18, 2009. I took the tren all the way to Retiro station, and then navigated eight-lane streets, then through La Plaza de San Martín, y un poco por la calle Florida, then back to my host family in Béccar!

Mi Buenos Aires Querido. Sunday, July 26, 2009. Today was great. My host mom and I made pizzas together, so I could teach her. How to make fluffy crust and she could teach me how to make thin crust. We used the salmon I brought from Seattle and avocados for toppings. Everyone just about died over how amazing they were. I also gave her an American pancake recipe, which we ate for dessert (with dulce de leche, of course). I then visited the Recoleta. Cemetary for the anniversary of Evita's death.

Mi Buenos Aires Querido. Wednesday, July 29, 2009. Before I left Seattle, I made a list of addresses of all the people I love. In Buenos Aires, I bought a bunch of cool postcards (which are surprisingly kind of hard to find. At least harder than finding postcards in Hawaii.). I have not written on a single one. Mi Buenos Aires Querido. Wednesday, July 29, 2009. I moved out of my host house and was so triste to say goodbye! My host dad gave me a giant bear hug and told me I was welcome back any time about 400 different ways. But then Willa whisked me away and now she, Kirsten, and I are sharing a hostel in palermo, which is just about the coolest ever. There's a parilla on the roof. Mi Buenos Aires Querido. Sunday, August 2, 2009. Back in the US. But first, I went out to a boliiiiiiche one last time, ate at a mozzarella and dulce de leche bar, wandered palermo, saw a planetarium show for kiddies who speak spanish way better than i can, and ate a GIANT choripan for $1usd. The Buenos Aires airport was so sad; people who worked there refused to speak to me in Spanish (even though by now I can understand Argentine spanish way better than Argentine english!
