MonarchBase - Geneset

The latest official geneset OGS2.0, which is based on the v3 assembly, consists of 15,130 genes. Query details for monarch genes. The complete information for each monarch OGS2.0 gene can be tracked here. For a specific search, input the monarch gene ID in the correct format. MonarchBase can also list all candidates with related annotation, which includes input key words. If you are interested in the old version, we also provide access for all OGS1.0 genes. Query genes potentially relevant for migration. Over 1,000 OGS2.0 genes of biological interest for monarch migration ( Zhan et al., 2011. Have been manually annotated and are available for browsing. Sensory input of vision. Query monarch gene families. The systemic annotation of monarch genes was based on several well-annotated databases. Monarch genes for a specific Gene Ontology. Domain, or KEGG. Orthology group can be retrieved here. Key words can also be used to search for related families.

MonarchBase - Migratory profiles

Microarray analysis of unique cDNA sequences in a monarch brain EST library has been performed ( Zhu et al., 2009. By treating migrants with a juvenile hormone (JH) analog, it was possible to isolate genes involved in sun compass-oriented flight (not affected by JH status) from those involved in other, JH-dependent aspects of the migration, like reproductive function and longevity. MonarchBase has integrated these migratory profiles to the OGS2.0 geneset. Query details for monarch ESTs. P 0001 * *.
