We can make it like a real dog and process the input information with the restrictions of the real dog, but we can also surpass those limitations and create a 'super' watchdog. The more detailed rules you put in the engine, the more accurately it can reacts. For example if the dog sees an intruder, then bite him. If the dog sees his owner, then laugh. Features of AIBO: Leds on his head, head touch sensor, chin sensor, Leds on its back. Stereo microphone at its ear, Leds display on its face, camera at its nose, speaker at its belly, pawn touch sensors and wireless connection. Monday, September 11, 2006. To be able to move freely in its environment AIBO needs to know the map of the room and ability to detect obstacles. By providing the map AIBO can calculate the best path to take and handle temporal changes. Otherwise AIBO has to explore its environment first to find the most suitable path.
