Mummy and the Mexicans: March 2015
http://www.mummyandthemexicans.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 31 March 2015. Joy is not in things, it is in us." - Richard Wagner. Counting my blessings this month! Today is the first Monday of the Easter holidays and it feels so luxurious to be able to lie in bed at 7.30 in the morning, catching up on all the blog posts I'm planning to write. Thanks to everyone who braved the rain and cold and came to celebrate Emma's 1st birthday. Our Christmas presents from my sister that arrived after three months in the post! 5 My birthday, which just happened to fall...
Mummy and the Mexicans: July Gratitude List
http://www.mummyandthemexicans.blogspot.com/2015/08/july-gratitude-list.html
Saturday, 1 August 2015. It's all about summer. Here are the things I'm grateful for this month. 1 The summer holidays! For me, almost a whole month off work to spend with my daughter, what a luxury! 3 Emma has started making the funniest, cutest facial expression! It started out as her "sleepy face": she screws up her eyes, wrinkles her nose and shows off all her teeth in a wide grin. She knows it cracks me up every time she does it! 2 August 2015 at 12:02. 4 August 2015 at 00:53. 3 August 2015 at 08:30.
Mummy and the Mexicans: May 2015
http://www.mummyandthemexicans.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Saturday, 30 May 2015. 52 Memories - Week 18: haircut by daddy. I love these pictures of Emma rocking a tousled bed-head look! Then her daddy decided to take the scissors into his own hands and trim her fringe, which was really way too long and getting in her eyes. Very brave - I wouldn't have dared! Admittedly, the fringe was slightly crooked, but not much, hardly noticeable, and she looks so cute! 2 Teachers' Day was on May 15th, a Friday and another school holiday - yay! 4 Happy bath time! May 15th - ...

Sunday, 31 August 2014. MySundayPhoto 31st August 2014. I took this photo this morning and really love it, even though it's a bit blurry as Little One was moving a lot. Such a gorgeous smile. I've been really rubbish at writing actual posts lately, it's been impossible to find time, what with starting a new job and everything else. Tomorrow I'll try and finish the one I've started, I promise. Sunday, 10 August 2014. MySundayPhoto 10th August 2014. Thursday, 7 August 2014. I decided to accept after weighi...
Mummy and the Mexicans: Goodbye, dummy
http://www.mummyandthemexicans.blogspot.com/2015/07/goodbye-dummy.html
Monday, 27 July 2015. I don't remember how long it's been since Emma stopped using a dummy*; three weeks, a month or maybe more. I didn't notice when the last time was, it slipped by when we weren't paying attention. Otherwise known as a pacifier or soother. Calmed down and fell asleep again. The last few times I tried to give her the dummy she also rejected it, so I think that's pretty decisive: we don't need it anymore. As simple as that! Her decision, not mine. Emma when she was older. I wish Eva woul...

The winter cold – upside down
http://upsidedowninoz.com/2016/06/09/the-winter-cold
Raquo; Upside Down Expat. June 9, 2016. Winters overseas feel raw and it’s not because of the weather. The winters down under are an unwelcome wake up from our happy holiday-like haze. In part, we’re spoilt by long summer days spent sprawled out on the sand, slathered in sun-cream, sipping on iced sodas and dipping in the ocean; our skin sun-kissed and sprinkled with freckles for what feels like infinity. You can also follow me on facebook: UpsideDown. Larr; Previous post link. Next post link →. Publishe...
The One Parenting Lesson I Need to Remember - Mummy Says...
http://www.mummysays.net/2015/07/22/the-one-parenting-lesson-i-need-to-remember
PR Information & disclosure. The One Parenting Lesson I Need to Remember. July 22, 2015. If I could tell you one thing, one lesson I’ve learnt, one lesson which is bigger than the rest, one lesson which keeps me going every time I relearn it – it would be this:. With love, it will be ok. And there is a second, vital part. Belief. Because sometimes, in that moment, you might feel like that is all you will have. (Apart from the children, the children.). Love Do it with love. Believe it will be ok. I am in ...
Why men (okay, one man I know) are freaked out by pregnancy – Mummy Muddler - muddling through early parenthood

Pregnancy & Baby. Mummy Muddler - muddling through early parenthood. Why men (okay, one man I know) are freaked out by pregnancy. March 2, 2015. Sigourney Weaver, John Hurt and Ridley Scott have A LOT to answer for. Lying in bed the other night, my 36 weeks pregnant belly was alive with huge kicks knocking it left to right and making my whole body convulse. I thought it was amazing. Give me your hand! I said to my husband. His hand appeared, rather gingerly, and barely touched my belly. That would be awe...

Pregnancy & Baby. Mummy Muddler - muddling through early parenthood. The ‘poos and don’ts’ of potty training in 6 days. September 4, 2015. So it turns out that potty training is less about your child learning how to use a potty or toilet and more about training yourself in how to manage a child who doesn’t wear nappies: how often do you have to ask them if they need to go? How many changes of clothes do you need to take out? How much notice will they give you? 8216;Helping’ to mop up an accident. And the...
How NOT to go on holiday – Mummy Muddler - muddling through early parenthood

Pregnancy & Baby. Mummy Muddler - muddling through early parenthood. How NOT to go on holiday. August 29, 2015. I like to think I’m pretty experienced at travelling with babies. I’ve been lucky/unlucky enough to fly long haul with one or both children a few times and thought I had it down pat. But then a couple of weeks ago we took the one hour flight down to France and made a catalogue of errors. So, this is how NOT to go on holiday…. 6 Arrange to pick the luggage up then catch up with your husband at t...

Pregnancy & Baby. Mummy Muddler - muddling through early parenthood. A smile, at last! March 15, 2016. This was the first time I saw signs of Daughter No.2 getting back to her usual, happy self recently after having the flu. So when I saw her finally smiling at me with clear eyes and a (relatively) snot-free face, I just had to take some photos (also because I’m totally in love with her blue eyes! Extremely unhappy having her hand bandaged up with the cannula for antibiotics. She later ripped it out.

Pregnancy & Baby. Mummy Muddler - muddling through early parenthood. First week back in London. August 7, 2015. We’ve been back in London a week already! In some ways it feels like much longer, but at the same time it has flown. She soon settled. The baby was an angel, just feeding, sleeping and playing. 26 hours with two kids- and it was ok! It’s been an exciting but really busy week as we’ve unpacked, caught up with family and got ourselves relatively straight. Not good when you’re getting used to a ne...

Pregnancy & Baby. Mummy Muddler - muddling through early parenthood. A day in the life of a toddler and her shoes. June 21, 2015. Now that the weather’s warming up in the UK, mums in the northern hemisphere might relate to this post. Here in Sydney I have this battle with shoes for about 8 months of the year! Does this sound familiar to anyone else? Me: Right, let’s go to the park. Where are your shoes? Eventually find one shoe in the toy box, one under the TV unit. No1: No. I wear my boots! Pull up as c...

Pregnancy & Baby. Mummy Muddler - muddling through early parenthood. 7 things you forget about having a newborn baby. May 7, 2015. When you have a baby, it seems almost everyone you meet says: You forget how tiny they are! But since having my second daughter a few weeks ago, I’ve realised there are a lot of things you forget about newborns. Can you add any more? That nipple flutter thing. Your newborn helps you discover all the things that are possible to do with one hand and your feet. You can hold ...

Mummyandthechipettes | A young mum and her little girls
A young mum and her little girls. Erbs palsy awareness week. October 6, 2015. As its Erbs palsy awareness week I thought now would be a good time to share my story. I have noticed that insecurities change over time, as I small child I wasn’t really that bothered and then as a pre-teen it started worrying me slightly that my arm hung differently and I couldn’t turn my hand palm up. As a teen my arm didn’t bother me as much as my scars and I have quite a few! September 26, 2015. September 26, 2015. Hey eve...

Privacy and Disclosure Policy. Red Riding Hood and The Wolf Belgrade Theatre. Tuesday, 3 April 2018. Today me and the kids went to The Belgrade Theatre Coventry to watch Red Riding Hood and the Wolf. Red Riding Hood and the Wolf is a retelling of the Red Riding Hood story by Little Angel Theatre. Robyn tells this alternative story through a world of homemade make-believe. We will be moving house soon, where we will have a really big garden suitable for some awesome children's parties and the idea makes m...

Tuesday, 11 August 2015. Choosing to be happy. It's the moment you are in and your decision to enjoy it. It's my daughter's smile, a conversation, an opportunity to be more, a heart full of hope, love and dreams. It is, as Martha Washington tells us, "determined not by our circumstance but by our disposition.". These two quotes below absolutely sum up my own ideas of what happiness is. So now I choose to live in this moment and be happy in it. It's all a matter of attitude! Tuesday, 4 August 2015. She ha...

Friday, 6 January 2017. Things to do in Mexico when you're hungry #10 Arroz con Leche (easy rice cooker version). Happy 2017 everybody, I hope your year has got off to the best possible start! For my first post of the new year I'm going to start as I mean to go on, with a foodie post, which I'll hopefully be writing more of and more frequently. I have childhood memories of Ambrosia tinned rice pudding, and fonder memories of my mum's oven-baked flaked rice pudding, but I'd never made rice pudding myself&...

Thursday, 28 May 2015. Baby number three and me. The last post I wrote was way back in January! It was centred on whether we should have a third child or not. At the time I wrote that I was actually pregnant with my third but had only just found out when it came to publishing the post on my blog. So yes we decided to take the plunge and have baby number three! Thank goodness it didn't last! My tummy is growing day by day and baby is having lots of fun kicking and playing within my tum. We found out t...

A Wee Bit About Me. Thursday, 1 January 2015. New year.old me. I'm not one for making New Year's resolutions, mainly because I'm shite at coming up with realistic ones and even more shite at sticking to them and then when I fail at not sticking to my shite unrealistic goals.I feel SHITE! It got me thinking too, if I had done this last year what would my rememberlutions have been? I could only think of a few before it started to hurt. And my favourite of hers, "hot ass potatoes! A new job. I finally t...
