Running, Rants and Randomness. Tuesday, April 28, 2015. Monday: 6.5 miles (6:54); 8.1 miles (6:56). Tuesday: 8 miles (6:27); 8.2 miles wih 4xhill blasts (7:11). Wednesday: 10.1 miles with 12x1:00 on/off. Wanted to run around 3k-5k effort and figured I'd average around 4:30. But most of them were into the wind and I averaged a little over 4:35 on the fast portions.slower than I would have liked but I recovered well in between and didn't feel like I was redlining or anything; 6.8 miles (7:15). Running, Rants and Randomness. Wednesday, August 5, 2015. July 27th-August 2nd Training. I was going to run in the morning but I had a bad migraine, so I had to scratch it. And since I'm in South Carolina and had plans to visit some friends for lunch and dinner, I didn't get in a run. We did see Trainwreck, which was pretty funny. However, I think Spy is a much funnier and better movie. Tuesday: No running.again. Wednesday: 5.4 miles (7:36); 9.3 miles (6:54). Friday: 7.1 miles with chumped out workout.

Was going to run two of my 4ish mile loops at a medium effort, working from sub 6:00 to 5:30s and after two miles in the low 5:50s, I knew today wasn't going to be a good day for running…15mph winds, steady rain and temps in the upper 30s; 12.3 miles (6:55ish). Running, Rants and Randomness. Tuesday, July 14, 2015. Monday: 11.3 miles (7:18). Last run in South Carolina and met up with my old high school buddy Ben Jackson. I felt bad that I'm living large as a PE teacher and he's only an orthopedic surgeon now. I got lost on the way to meet him and lost again on the way back to the hotel, so it was some extra mileage, that I ended up needing. It was good to catch back up with him though. Tuesday: 6 miles (7:20); 8.9 miles (6:45). Sunday: 19.6 miles (6:44).

Running, Rants and Randomness. Tuesday, July 28, 2015. Monday: 7.3 miles (7:07). Only ran once because I had an early flight from Chicago. Tuesday: 10.7 miles (6:22); 5.4 miles (6:50). Wednesday: 11.3 miles with 12x600m with 1:00 jog rest. Thursday: 7.3 miles (7:23); 4 miles (8:13); 6.3 miles (6:50). Friday: 9.4 miles (6:36); 5.5 miles (7:07). Running, Rants and Randomness. Wednesday, July 22, 2015. Monday: 8 miles (7:15); 1 mile (9:00 and I don't even know why I'm counting this); 6.3 miles (6:57). Tuesday: 8.7 miles with 4xhill blasts. Got smoked by a 4:30 miler on all of them(7:25); 6.3 miles (6:40). Wednesday: 8.4 miles with axed workout. Thursday: 11 miles with 9.53 miles moderate at 5:38 average. Friday: 9.6 miles (6:50); Skipped second run. Visiting my aunt and uncle in Rockford, IL, so I didn't have much time. Week Total: 81.1 miles.

Running, Rants and Randomness. Tuesday, June 30, 2015. The Grandmas Marathon/Garry Bjorklund Half-Marathon has always been one of my favorite races to travel to I love the semi-quaintness of Duluth. It has a little bit of an old fashioned feel to it, the weather in summer is nearly perfect (even though winters are long and miserable), it's a really scenic and pretty area and they even have wolves. And best of all, it's a competitive race on a mostly flat course. You don't want to go there in winter.

Running, Rants and Randomness. Wednesday, May 27, 2015. Monday: 6.3 miles (6:50); 8.2 miles (6:50). Tuesday: 8 miles (6:42);. Way too busy for a second run. Kids last day of school, so I spent my lunch break hanging around. The weather also tanked overnight, and I had a 45 minute shift in the dunking booth in 50 degree weather. The constant smacktalk was almost worth the near frostbite. Friday: 8.5 miles with bombed tempo. Last run in White House. Saturday: 6.2 miles (7:30). Sunday: 6.3 miles (6:58).

Running, Rants and Randomness. Tuesday, January 27, 2015. Monday: 10.6 miles (7:18); 6.3 miles (7:20). Tuesday: 7 miles (6:59). Was going to do a light fartlek but my legs felt like cinder blocks and I was crawling on my first pre-workout strides; 10.7 miles with 4x10s hill sprints (7:02). Wednesday: 12 miles with 10 miles medium. Averaged 5:39 pace for the 10 miles. Felt really smooth and controlled after a rusty first couple of miles. Splits ranged from 5:30 to 5:50; 7 miles (7:32).
