For as long as I could remember, my grandmother Lola Roberts LePage had told us that Nelson Spratt, who would be my great, great, great uncle, as his sister married Alfred LePage my great, great, great grandfather, had been the designer of the first America’s Cup boat for the United States. This boat, named the America, won the coveted cup in 1851. So this week it hit the news that a replica of this schooner.

Then today, a family story needed to be researched for fact finding truth, and as I dug through the folders, files, slips of paper from my grandmother’s work, I realized that she went through all of this and I don’t know what will happen to it.
