Friday, July 13, 2012. Big Month for a Big Kid. June was a big, action-packed month for our little girl. The first thing to happen was her kindergarten class end of year talent show. Elise decided to jump rope for the talent show and practiced in secret for a few weeks leading up to the show. We had no idea she could jump rope at all! She was really excited to show off her talent:. Here she is on her first afternoon of teaching herself to hula hoop:. Elise really liked all of the attention - even if it w...

Rambling Leaf: Sports Czar, part 2
http://ramblingleaf.blogspot.com/2010/05/sports-czar-part-2.html
A collection of severely disjointed ramblings and tangents about sports, politics and society. Sports Czar, part 2. It seems as though expansion is the theme of 2010 in sports. The NCAA Tournament has added 3 teams, the Pac-10 and Big Ten (and the SEC and ACC- the Big 12 could be eviscerated) are exploring adding teams, and the NFL is debating whether or not to add 2 regular season games. If I were Sports Czar, these are the additions I would make. The Pac-10 is a little different. There are no "natu...

Thursday, May 24, 2012. Hilarious Stuff My Kids Say. I like to periodically capture the delightful things my kids say for posterity, espeically because I think that they are hilarious little people and if I don't write it down I know I will one day forget. As I am singing along to a song on the radio Elise says "Mommy is this your jam? Marty to Lucas: "That is not appropriate behavior! You are going to sit here and think about the consequences of your actions! What do you do at a petunia party? Hilarious...

The Skinny on the Molloy Family: September 2012

Monday, September 17, 2012. Elise Molloy, First Grader. About a week before the official start of school we took Elise in for a first grade orientation and we got a chance to meet her new teacher (Mrs. Valentine) her table mates (Ally, Gabriel and Falls) and the rest of her classmates (an alarming number of children whose names start with S - seriously about half of the class! And the orientation definitely made Elise feel more comfortable with the idea of first grade. Monday, September 3, 2012. 6 Olympi...

Saturday, October 27, 2007. Home Is Where the Heart Is. She's simply on the verge of toddlerdom. So for those of you that have either never experienced toddlerdom or have blissfully forgotten, allow me to provide this short definition. Toddlerdom: A fictional, although all too believable location, rooted in reality, where your small cherubic, allow me to stress angelic. What's so great about all that, you ask? While I was away this week, Elise would look at two books with her mommy - books that Meredith ...

Wednesday, November 30, 2011. The State of Elise. She also comes home with some other very creative project - a model,. Picture, etc every day. We need to host another art show! And she finds this extremely confusing considering that her friendships with best buddies Audrey and Sara Jane were always very clear, straightforward and awesome. She is working through it and I am sure it will work itself out soon. They do lots of writing in her kindergarten class and while she was resistant to writing in.

The Skinny on the Molloy Family: Pool People
http://themolloyclan.blogspot.com/2012/06/pool-people.html
Sunday, June 10, 2012. We have a swim club at the end of our street,. Just in the first few days our children have both already come a long way in terms of confidence in the water. Luke, who originally said he "only wants to join the baby pool". Became brave enough to try out the bigger pool and loves it. He is jumping in by himself and even putting his head underwater - something he was terrified of only a few days ago! The best part is that the pool is right on our street.
