On Clearwater Beach last January, and loved the frosted glass door on the bathroom. Here is a photo very close to what I want to build. I hope to have a nice, old-fashioned front porch on my house, where we can sit out of an evening, talk, and maybe even whittle a bit. How much dirt will need to be removed under it? What does local zoning say? What does sanity say? I like the idea of Trex. Can be of Trex, removing the issues of splitting and splintering we have on our current wood decks. The only real question is cost.

Dumb ideas, services and inventions banging around my head. May 16, 2008. A combo solar, water, and tempature sensor, very cheap, to tell you the health of window sill herb gardens. Can be sold alone, or packaged with a pre-seeded garden pot. The sensors will tell you if the plants are getting enough light, water and the right temperature. Each sensor is tailored and sold based on plant type and location (as the range of acceptable levels. The plant name and care instructions are printed on the back.

Dumb ideas, services and inventions banging around my head. May 24, 2008. I hate applying masking tape when cutting in difficult edges. Even with the new blue tape, it takes too long, it is hard to get the tape into tough corners, the tape is too thick, and the edge is not straight. Imagine instead a hard-edged plastic sheet, 6 inches long and 1.5 inches wide, with a sticky back. Just like the 3M tabs, but 6 or 12 inches long, on sheets. Easy to apply, and even easier to pull off with the tabs.

二月 23, 2014 in Let's Draw. 二月 18, 2014 in Let's Draw. 七月 23, 2013 in Let's Draw. 六月 1, 2013 in Let's Draw. 一直都在畫大澳,不過調子畫來畫去都差不多,甚至每況愈下,愈畫愈死。 一是用遮蓋液,這個一直在想但仍未試;另外就是一面畫一面留白,但很費神,而且筆觸變得瑣碎欠爽快利落。 通常愈小心謹慎畫的,都效果呆板暮氣沉沉,反而隨意不帶期望的,卻有點小意外小驚喜,如下圖。 五月 12, 2013 in 自家花園. 下了一個多月的雨,晴天的日子寥寥無幾,桂花應該早已開過,但連日的雨水和不熱的五月,讓桂花再開了,而且開得特別大,小花是冬天時的兩三倍,看來是入夏前最後一樹的桂花。 難得今天天陰,趁下午無雨,快快地摘,樹不高,只比人高一點, 只摘完下面的已收穫半碗,正伸手準備摘樹頂時,葉中突然飛出一隻鳥來,在手邊衝過站在圍牆上,與我對望了一秒,還沒有回過神來就飛走了。 鳥兒已飛離巢,我八卦心起,站上花槽邊看看,沒有蛋,再仔細看,巢內有雛鳥數隻! 唯有和阿宝退回家中,半關上門, 搬個椅子在門邊一面靜靜窺看等著母鳥回巢。
