My Loose Threads

Sunday, August 29, 2010. So I've taken a little blogging break here. Maybe it's a summer thing, maybe I need a better direction here. Really, a lot of the reason is that all my projects have been knitting ones so they get documented, photographed, noted, cataloged, linked, and oohed and aahed over on Ravelry. Much of my purpose for the blog was just to have a great record of what I've made in one place. For knitting Ravelry handles that perfectly. For sewing, there's just nothing like it. Um, more scarve...

My Loose Threads: Finishing Time - Sea Silk Scarf

http://myloosethreads.blogspot.com/2010/06/finishing-time-sea-silk-scarf.html

Sunday, June 13, 2010. Finishing Time - Sea Silk Scarf. Once I heard about a gorgeous yarn called Sea Silk that is part silk, part seacell, with incredible drape and shine that even smelled a bit like the sea, I had to try it. The fact that it's dyed by Handmaiden means that it comes in the most incredible colorways too. I now have several skeins but here is the first project I've finished with it. The pattern is called Montego Bay. I made my scarf a bit wider by casting on 47 stitches to start. Spring S...

My Loose Threads: March 2010

http://myloosethreads.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html

Monday, March 29, 2010. Garden of Alla Shawl. On one of my mom's trips out to Philadelphia she became enamored of my Koigu Feather and Fan scarf. And was determined to make one just like it. She even bought 4 skeins to make two scarves. Well. I think she'll finish one of them someday but in the meantime I thought I'd make her something she could wear now. :). Pre Blocking. One thing I love about these slow color-changing yarns is watching the color emerge as you knit. It keeps you motivated to ju...I fin...

My Loose Threads: A Little Summer Prep

http://myloosethreads.blogspot.com/2010/07/little-summer-prep.html

Thursday, July 1, 2010. A Little Summer Prep. So what do I have planned for summer knitting? Um, more scarves and shawls of course! If you're wondering when I'll have "enough" that won't come until I run out of patterns I want to make. so basically never. I'm sure at some point I'll tire of lace and move on, but for now I really enjoy it so I'm running with it! From left to right:. Handmaiden Swiss Mountain Mulberry/Tussah (worsted weight, Topaz color). Malabrigo Sock (fingering weight, Indiecita color).

My Loose Threads: Finishing time - Daybreak shawl

http://myloosethreads.blogspot.com/2010/06/finishing-time-daybreak-shawl.html

Thursday, June 10, 2010. Finishing time - Daybreak shawl. Daybreak shawl is done! I made it to match my raincoat above and of course it's finished just in time for it to be too warm to wear. Ah well, I'm sure I'll enjoy it in the fall. This is another of of the WIPs I've posted about previously. I started so many projects at once but now I'm finishing them all up in a hurry. The pattern is Daybreak. By Stephen West. The yarn is KnitPick's new Stroll Tonal. Small would have been fine. Finishing time - Day...

sewzenmama: April 2009

http://sewzenmama.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html

Friday, April 10, 2009. I realized when I was uploading these pics they are all skirts and tee shirts! Didn't even realize I had been doing that :). A boatneck tee (on little i) from ottobre 1/09 the neck was odd and fiddly, but ended fine. Corny (ahahahaha, yes dad that is for you! Tees for the boys. Such a fun print and very appropriate for our location: middle of nowhere Kansas. Ooga booga tee for little i, this is another one of those I can't believe I can buy this fabric reprint! How did that happen?

sewzenmama: Back off Vacation!

http://sewzenmama.blogspot.com/2009/09/back-off-vacation.html

Monday, September 7, 2009. Okay alright, I actually came back over a month ago but have had so much going on that I took an extended vacation from the blog. I may be taking a bit of a hiatus from blogging about sewing and crafting because everything will be soon put in boxes to be moved overseas! We found out that Kev's next assignment is in The Netherlands, we are very excited to be moving and closer to some of my family that lives in Europe. Now onto the sewing. :). Reversible skirt with comfy waistband.

sewzenmama: November 2008

http://sewzenmama.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html

Sunday, November 16, 2008. Little i was in need of some pants (or trousers for those not in the states ;) everything in the stores were either blah or too short in leg so it was time to hit the sewing machine assembly line style. All of the pants are cut exactly the same using the 10 minute pants/one pattern piece method but they are different and fun! Close up of the outerspace and cars prints. That's all for now, had a sick baby this last week so didn't get too much done. :). Monday, November 10, 2008.

Wednesday, December 31, 2008. Hard to believe a year is up again! I think the years are going by faster and faster. :). I also plan on making most of little i's clothes for spring/summer so I shall be quite busy (baby n has soo soo many clothes, lots of wonderful handmedowns! So why handmade only? I can sew ;) (and knit) I have lots of wonderful patterns, fabrics, yarns, and i tend to love the fit and style of the handmade items I make moreso than rtw, why not stick with what I love? Pattern. sewzenmama: May 2009

Saturday, May 30, 2009. An Ode to French Terry. I have a confession to make, I only recently (like really recently, about 2 months ago) figured out what french terry fabric is. Yup, no idea that my favorite zip hoodie wasn't some kind of weird sweatshirt but not sweatshirt fleece material. Had no idea what it was called or that I could even buy. French terry fabric. Obviously, I have been living under a rock. Once I figured out what the favorite material was called, and hurrah! In a lovely mocha color.

sewzenmama: February 2009

Monday, February 23, 2009. Yup, gonna show ya my dirty laundry today! I know y'all are terrible excited about that! Haha, see, nothing to cringe about! A patchy scarf for baby n; I've seen a couple of patchwork scarves for woman on etsy, and had a stack of charm squares that I thought would work well, the reverse is some textured fleece I had leftover from a hat and mitten set. The pattern is new look 6774. Close up of bodice, i like that the top actually crosses in front and isn't a mock cross. I really...

Stitching, Quilting and Travelling the World. The next project…. March 1, 2012 by aussieinspain. I have followed the lovely Alissa’s pattern. To make these placemats for my friend in Sydney. Her only request was for me to use cobalt blue and white. They are a bit larger than your standard Australian placemats or table settings at about 14 by 19 inches. I think it gives them character. Now to find time to quilt them! I plan on using a straight line technique. 8211; made by the lovely Blooming Poppies.

Rediscover: 2/365: Daydream

http://funkyhulagirl.blogspot.com/2011/01/2365-photo-play.html

Sunday, January 2, 2011. So far, so good. I've kept up with my blog (hahah, 2nd day) as well as my 365 Photo/Day Hoopla. On Facebook. The family had an awesome day with my brother in law, Paul who is visiting from L.A. Uncle Martin also tagged along. I'm enjoying my winter break (although it does not feel like winter with all the sun) so I'm dreading the coming days that will lead my closer to the start of student teaching. I wish I can sit all day and daydream, like this:. Labels: Ohana means family.

Live Laugh. Love. July 30, 2015. By Deinma A. Charles. I am sadness and happiness. The bitter wine that leaves a sweet after taste in ur mouth. I am day and night.
