183;Ver. Staten. 183;Over deze site. Heb ik een reis gemaakt door Patagonië, het meest zuidelijke gebied van Zuid-Amerika. De reis startte in de Argentijnse hoofdstad, Buenos Aires, en ging langs het oosten naar beneden, naar Ushuaia, om vervolgens langs het westen weer naar boven te gaan, om uiteindelijk in de hoofdstad van Chili, Santiago, te eindigen. Tenslotte zijn we met een zeer comfortabele nachtbus naar onze eindbestemming, Santiago, gebracht. De hoofdstad van Chili heeft net als Buenos Aires...

183;Ver. Staten. 183;Over deze site. Heb ik een bezoek gebracht aan Libië. Niet de meest voor de hand liggende bestemming om op vakantie te gaan, maar de mogelijkheid om een week door de. Dan is de tijd weer aangebroken om de rugzak definitief te pakken en op het vliegtuig naar huis te stappen. De combinatie van wat cultuur, Leptis en Sabratha, met het grote avontuur in de woestijn maken dat dit voor mij een topbestemming is . de woestijn is meer dan een grote zandbak!

Het startpunt van de reis was Johanneburg waarna we twee dagen in Mapungubwe National Park doorbrachten. Dit park ligt op het drielandenpunt van Zuid-Afrika, Botswana en Zimbabwe, daar waar de Shashe en Limpopop rivieren bij elkaar komen. Thinking of Cuba, one pictures an image of sigars, rum, old American cars and the ever present music. Well, in reality this is also true. Cuba is a very diverse country, with its three mountain ranges, colonial cities and beaches.

Even the first time I sat in an airplane. Ghana is not a country most people think of when they go on holiday, but it is definitely worthwhile.

I spent 3 weeks travelling through Zambia and a few days visiting Mana Pools and Vic. Falls in Zimbabwe. The main attractions for me for visiting this relatively unknown country were the Natura Parks and the possibility of making walking safari's, getting close to the wild animals without the protection of a car. All good thing must come to an end. I can only come to one conclusion, Zambia is a great country to visit. I made this trip with Sawadee.

I visited Libya. Not the most obvious choice for a holiday, but spending a week in the Sahara was one of the things that attracted me to this country. Most people do not understand my fascination with the desert, and it is hard to put into words. The Sahara is more then a big sandpit. But I hope that by looking at the pictures you will see the beauty of the desert.

We were supposed to land in Alexandria, but due to some heavy fog on the ground the pilot had to abort the landing. After a few more tries and no chance of landing, we flew to Cairo instead. Finally we went back to Cairo. On our last day we finally visited the Pyramids and Saqqara. A great way to end this holiday.

After visiting Mana Pools and Vic. Falls in Zimbabwe during my trip to Zambia in September 2006. I went back for nearly 3 weeks in May/June 2007. Starting in Johannesburg we spent two days in Mapungubwe National Park located at the confluence of the Shashe and Limpopo Rivers, where three countries unite: Botswana, South Africa and Zimbabwe, before crossing the South Africa/Zimbabwe border at Beit Bridge. I made this trip with Outback Africa.

Arches National Park (USA). We drove through the well known National Parks of the Western USA and along the coast on Highway 1 from San Francisco to Los Angelos. We went Island hopping on the Azores. I have not been able to update this site recently, but hope to add pictures and stories during the coming months.

Hebben we een reis gemaakt langs de bekende nationale parken in het westen van de Verenigde Staten en zijn we via Highway 1 langs de kust van San Francisco naar Los Angelos gereden. Zijn we aan het eilandhoppen geweest op de Azoren.
