Masquetuck Trail

Walk Walk your dog. Walk Nantucket. Nantucket Conservation Foundation Property. To download a map of this walk, go here. To get here, take the Polpis Road until you come to the Quaise Pasture Road on your left. Take this road until you come to a small cul-de-sac parking lot and a Conservation Foundation marker. There are a few places where the trail comes out to the shore of Polpis Harbor. At low tide, you can walk along the shore for a bit, or stay on the trial for the beautiful view of the harbor.

But it is a sweet little park and a great place for your dog to get a little swim in during the hot months of summer. Nestled in the crook between Madaket Road and Cliff, this pond and park is a Nantucket Land Bank property and the site of the Founders Burial Ground, and includes a memorial to some of the first European male settlers. Take Hummock Pond Road out of town toward Cisco Beach. After you pass the road to Bartlett Farm and Cisco Brewery (on your left) and the fish store (on your right), start looking for a Nantucket Land Bank marker and parking lot on your right. Plenty of parking. Park here. You can get lost, but not for long.
