These are the voyages of Mike and Denise cruising the British waterways on their 57 foot narrowboat Densie. Friday, 31 July 2015. Ely and further north. After our relatively easy time in the last 4 days we need to start moving again. We left Waterbeach at 9:20, descended Bottisham Lock, and cruised on up the Cam and then the Great Ouse for 13.5 miles finishing off yet again out in the wilds, some 3.5 miles north of Ely. These are the voyages of Mike and Denise cruising the British waterways on their 57 foot narrowboat Densie. Thursday, 13 August 2015. We have now returned to March where we will stay for a couple of days. It was an easy 7 mile journey from Upwell. The forecast 50% probability rain didnt happen and the only wind was behind us so we were able to keep up a good 3.5 mph. We arrived just before lunch. The official town moorings were full so we have moored opposite them against a grassy bank.

Moored at Upwell (2nd boat). We walked to Brian Tweed, the nearest local butchers (Upwell has 3! And bought some home-made haslet for lunch and sausages which we will enjoy this evening.
