Significantly Irrelevant: August 2010
http://significantlyirrelevant.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
Friday, August 20, 2010. The last few months we have been trying to come up with a new name for our Children's Ministry. I mean, not that Lafayette First Church of the Nazarene Children's Ministry isn't catchy, it just sounds more like a dental procedure than a fun place to come and hang out and learn about Jesus. After lots of thought and discussion and prayer, here is what we came up with:. Our mission is that every kid that comes through our doors would experience the WONDER. Of God, DISCOVER. These t...

Significantly Irrelevant: October 2012
http://significantlyirrelevant.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
Thursday, October 11, 2012. Today we are celebrating Isaak's 11th birthday. And celebrating we are! Over the past year God has brought our family from a place of pain and mourning and chaos to a place of peace and joy and, to be honest, still chaos. Yesterday we wept. But today we laugh. Days Weeks. Months. Years. Because time is a luxury for the hearts that are still beating. It's a measure of breaths and smiles and dawns. But when your heart surrenders to the old, new ceases to exist. Oh, it's there.

Significantly Irrelevant: January 2013
http://significantlyirrelevant.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 10, 2013. I found out this morning that another one of my cousins from my Dad’s side of the family was sentenced to 14 years in prison on drug related charges. And I took the news hard. So much so that I’ve been surprised with my own reaction. To be honest, I wouldn’t know this kid if I saw him. I don’t even know his real name. We don’t have a relationship and I’m not even sure that he knows that I exist. But I get him off my mind. De te palo, tal astilla. Maybe that’s it. Maybe I forgo...

Significantly Irrelevant: Possible. Not Perfect.
http://significantlyirrelevant.blogspot.com/2012/09/possible-not-perfect.html
Wednesday, September 26, 2012. Possible. Not Perfect. A few weeks ago I had dinner with some old friends from high school. We knew each other so well back then. Almost 20 years ago. We grew up together. We grew apart together. One of them said it first. Then the others agreed. It was suppose to be nice. She meant it at a compliment. It was her perception. Their perception. Their conclusion of the story based on the what they had seen. What I had told them. What I had shown them. But mostly what I had not.

Significantly Irrelevant: February 2013
http://significantlyirrelevant.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Sunday, February 3, 2013. Less Waiting. More Doing. I heard this today. 8220; Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”. Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us.” John 14:6-8. How could Phillip have missed that? How could he have been so blind? How could he have been so dumb to ask? Wait Was it dumb? That I had...

Thursday, January 28, 2010. Week 3 of the Kindgom Experiment. I sat in a room last night with people who were sharing openly about some of the hardest times in their lives. Times when they mourned. Their stories were honest and personal and raw.and all in the past tense. Mourning. Something they did. Something that they worked through. A time in the past when they were comforted. Their words and their faces and their tears were beautiful. But blessed are those who still mourn? Going Going. Gone. In this ...

Wednesday, April 21, 2010. A week from today(6 days, 5 hours and 45 minutes to be exact)I will be in Georgia for the opening session of Orange Conference 2010. To say that I am excited is an understatement. I still don't think it has set in yet that I am actually going. I got so excited earlier today when I got the link for the live broadcast. Of Orange 2010 and then I had to remind myself that I would actually be there. I mean really, who am I kidding? There And I pray that God, who most defiantly has a...

Secretariat: December 2009
http://secretariat1.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Wednesday, December 16, 2009. I know that I do not have a huge following on my blog, but there are a few. I have been thinking about something recently that I would like some of your opinions on. Why can I not name the youth workers at the 2 churches that are within 2 miles of our church. I want to be sure that it is known that I am not blaming others for this lack of connection. I am just thinking through this. Here are the questions that I have. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Less Waiting. More Doing.
