Tailings are the debris left over from mining for silver and gold, much like the scraps we acquire from making quilts. I did a short demonstration at my quilt guild a couple of years ago on how to piece the Bow Tie Block. I don’t know why this simple Bow Tie Block captured my interest. Was it the possible color combinations, or the ease of piecing? Only one block was singing, but not the music I was hoping to hear.
