Devils Kitchen - Noosa National Park | Noosa National Park

Looking out from the headland at the southern end of Alexandria Bay there are excellent views of the coastline to Coolum and beyond. The rocky outcrop is known as the devils kitchen which can have spectacular waves breaking in rough weather. From this headland you may be lucky spot turtles, dolphins or whales.

Noosa National Park Koalas. Noosa National Park has a small active population of Koalas which can often be seen close to popular pathways and near the park entrance. A good tip is to check with the parks information hut near the park entrance as they have a chalkboard which details recent koala sightings along with details of how to find them. The male koala in the photo above was snoozing in a tree just behind Tea Tree Bay. Oblivious to the many tourists taking his picture.

This beach located in the Noosa National Park on the walking track between the parks entrance and Hells Gates changes between sand and large granite pebbles, depending on storms and tides. At high tide the beach all but disappears, however in recent times due to storm activity there is a great deal more sand.

Hells Gates is located on the coastal track and is a 5.2k round trip from the park entrance. Allow 2 to 3 hours. 1km to Dolphin Point. 17km from Dolphin Point to Hell’s Gates. 27km from Hell’s Gates to northern Sunshine Beach. Pied Cormorants can be seen wings outstretched drying in a sunny spot on the rocks. Many spectacular birds of prey can be seen hunting for food such as Osprey and Sea Eagles. With a keen eye and if you are lucky you may see one tucking into lunch of freshly caught fish.
