The varied landscape includes sand dunes and salt marshes, downlands, woodlands and heath, with many beautiful villages. A UK and Norfolk Biodiversity Action Plan Species, the barbastelle is seen as a Norfolk speciality with a population in East Anglia that's considered to be 'highly significant in context of national distribution' (Harrington, L.A., Catto, and Hutson, A.M).
