Tuesday, October 13, 2009. 32 vs 64 bit in IIS legacy applications. Or sometimes you can't see the forest for the trees). There are a number of settings and things which you need to be aware of when moving legacy applications to IIS 7. Moving to a 64-bit (x64) platform from a 32-bit (x86) one complicates this a little further. After going around and around looking at the registration, file system permissions and doing procmon traces, I figured I would go to the absolute basics and check the component fro...

The two best resources I found are here:. Theme de...

Sunday, April 11, 2010. A response to John Gruber on section 3.3.1 of Apple's SDK agreement. John Gruber recently posted ( http:/ daringfireball.net/2010/04/why apple changed section 331. Though, I do believe he is wrong that Apple doesn't dream of a Windows style share of the mobile market. I think they do, and not only in a horizontal, but most definitely in a vertical space. Could that balance change for any or all those platforms in the future? Yes Is it likely, from a historical perspective, No.
