This is a Japanese Maple in my front bed. It is one of my favorite trees. As we got closer while we were collecting a variety of leaves to study for Botany, we noticed something unusual. There was a nest. I told the girls that we needed to be careful not to disturb it or touch it, so I grabbed my iPhone to take pictures.

The Not Very Big Year. Trying to see as many British breeding birds as possible. October 27, 2006. Not a lot, at the moment. Autumn is here, but we still need some British breeders! So, where have we cocked up and where do we still have a chance? Still possible, but we'll probably have to twitch one somewhere inland. Dipping in Scotland in May means we've virtually no chance. Too late now. but where were they all? Not beyond the realms of possibility. Left it too late. Doh. Hopefully will still see these.
