Without Geometry, Life is Pointless. Musings on math, education, teaching, and research. Friday, November 2, 2012. While not nearly as sexy as iPads. And definitely not as lucrative as Khan Academy. I for some reason made the choice to lead a 90 minute session this morning on student posed problems. By this I mean creating a culture where students are producers of mathematics, not just consumers of mathematics. Focus on process, not just answers. Start with good problems. Checks for deeper understanding.

The New York City Math Team (NYCMT) provides the means by which interested, outstanding students may prepare in order to collectively represent NYC in State, Regional, and National Mathematics Competitions.
