Sometimes It's Plant-based: June 2008
http://sometimesitsplantbased.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html
This blog is about the finding, growing, planting, nurturing, choosing, using, cooking, preparing and ingesting of plants. Saturday, June 21, 2008. Re-post: The real free (healthy) health service - Dec 06. Today's blog post was going to be another negative rant about the NHS, specifically the new Spine database, along the lines of 'NHS Consumes Itself', because there was a piece in the newspaper this weekend about Helen Wilkinson. What of the trusting relationship between doctor and patient? But we are s...

Sometimes It's Prudent: April 2008
http://sometimesitsprudent.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html
Not too much. Not too little. Just enough. Monday, April 21, 2008. Crunchy. and sticky. I've just been reading this analysis on the BBC news site, written last Tuesday by economics expert Stephanie Flanders. I'm no economics expert - I do not understand all the complexities involved in this issue, but I want to understand the gist of it, because this problem is about more than academic numbers and abstract political principles. It's going to affect everyone's daily lives to a massive extent, isn't it?

Sometimes It's Prudent: Reaction
http://sometimesitsprudent.blogspot.com/2008/12/reaction.html
Not too much. Not too little. Just enough. Monday, December 29, 2008. Making the decision to live prudently - even, shock horror, to not make the getting and spending of money. My main priority in life - was a refreshingly easy one to make and it's been a gloriously relaxed and enjoyable way to live. I've had time. One (affluent) neighbour in particular suddenly started talking to us again when he thought we'd got a new car - and stopped when it turned out to be a courtesy car! Much more ample) resources...

Today’s “maths lesson”. 8220;Why does ‘walk’ have an ‘l’ in it? 8221; →. March 23, 2011 · 6:44 am. Autonomous learning, what it means for us. We’ve done some of that, but tend to be more home and family-centred these days. I’ve found, over the years, that my children learn best when I let them take the lead. So we went to The Royal Armouries. He's shooting the tiger. 039;Wow, swords. What are they for? 8211; has me scrabbling to read the plate to her, before she’s off again. Sometimes It's Prudent: August 2008
http://sometimesitsprudent.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html
Not too much. Not too little. Just enough. Thursday, August 14, 2008. In praise of the Sell-it Centre. But it sold before I'd saved up for it. I'm still on the look-out for one though. I was just Googling to see if there was a website for the Sell-It Centre and found something better instead: this cheesy promo on YouTube! Posted by Gill at 8:06 AM. West Yorkshire, United Kingdom. View my complete profile. Dear gov.uk, you asked for my opinions. Prudence is a criminal and will be suitably punish. Prudence...

Pete Darby's Raven's Brood. Bigger Thinks of a Bald Hairy Man from Meifod. You’re turning me into a paranoid lunatic again, tories. BBC News – MP Graham Allen calls for early years intervention. This is going to take some unpacking, but let’s start with the pull quote:. 8220;Socially and emotionally capable people are more productive, better educated, tax-paying citizens helping our nation to compete in the global economy, and make fewer demands on public expenditure. Sometimes It's Personal: My [not so secret] life ambition
http://sometimesitspersonal.blogspot.com/2011/03/my-not-so-secret-life-ambition.html
This is just me, wittering on about me and some non-specific family-type stuff. Well, I've got to do it somewhere. Tuesday, 1 March 2011. My [not so secret] life ambition. I'm building a village. Making a start - however small and slow - in the field. With 'studio bedrooms' for the older children. What do I mean by 'village'? Why do I want to build one? Unless there is that deep, familial bond of love involved - ditto the care of old people. And each other! Take a village to raise a child, and to educate...
