I appliqued the hearts with invisible machine applique, using a modified version of Harriet Hargreave's freezer paper method. I used fusible interfacing instead of freezer paper, fusing it to the wrong side of the fabric with very low heat and gluing the seam allowances to the interfacing. Right side of prepared applique. Blogger’s editor has recently become excruciatingly slow and irritating. I continued using it because I like the way it integrates my Picasa web albums, making it very easy to add photos to my posts (when it works of course). This past week I read Dawn’s post. Jalie jeans 2908 muslin part 2. Subtitle: Making a sandwich wrap sloper/block. While thinking about my ill-fitting jeans muslin over the weekend, I remembered Phat Chick Designs' post. I must mention here that I have been trying to understand the fitting problems for a while now, and have been reading up about pants adjustments, but for some reason the intricacies of crotch fitting are just beyond me. It seems counter-intuitive. So: learning by doing. The result is a weird ghostly replica of myself.

One of my recently completed projects is a pair of pants for my daughter from Simplicity 2665. It has a faced waistline with sewn-on patch pockets in front, and darts in the back. She has a pair of RTW pants in a similar style (just not so flared) and finds them very comfortable - no straight waistband(! Here is my review. Juniors'/Juniors' Plus pants or shorts, top, vest and scarf. 5/6 to 15/16 (Note: these are not ages! Denim, pinwale corduroy, pique, poplin, twill, sateen. Yes, my daughter wants more!
