And it will not be taken away from her. June 16, 2014. Forgiveness on Father’s Day. I spent most of my life harboring bitterness, anger, and resentment toward my father. I didn’t cry when he died. As far as I was concerned, we had already lost him years before when he checked out. He’d come home from work every day, head to his chair, and fall asleep for hours. He told me that his life held nothing special for him, and that God’s plan for him wasn’t grand or anything. Why should he be any different?
