Ferry Service to Orford Beach from Orford Quay. Orford Island is a long shingle beach and has some of the deepest beach lines on the East Coast of England. Cod fishing from the beach here can be the most consistent in the UK, maybe not one of the most renowned because of its remote location. The best periods to fish most certainly are the winter months from mid-September up to the end of December and then from March through to mid-June. The fishing drops during January, February, July and August.

Orford village is centred on the Suffolk Heritage Coast, 20km east of Ipswich and is easily accessible from the A12. The village boasts a fine 12 century castle and 14th century church. Regardless is a 25ft wooden clinker open launch boat of the traditional style for this area. Regardless carries three tickets MCA Class V Passenger, S.C.D.C. Educational and fun activity trip on board Regardless in the safe haven of the River Ore at Orford with Peter the Skipper. The trip involves demonstrating lifting and baiting up of lobster pots and looking at the many different types of sea life we catch eg: lobsters, edible, spider, velvet and hermit crabs, fish and shellfish. Regardless leaves Orford Quay at 5:30pm every day, depending on demand, during summer school holidays and 5:30pm on Saturdays during term time May to September.
