Mountains Rule: John Corbett and a Jewel Surprise
http://mtsrool.blogspot.com/2014/07/john-corbett-and-jewel-surprise.html
Monday, July 7, 2014. John Corbett and a Jewel Surprise. John Corbett performed at the Sheridan Opera House in Telluride on Saturday night. He is better known as an actor, but he and his band were great! What a great voice! Jewel was sitting right beside me, and I was thrilled when he had her come on the stage and sing a few songs. I've always regretted not seeing her the last time she performed at the Opera House. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). POWr Social Media Icons. Telluride, CO, United States.

Thursday, July 25, 2013. Christ of the Mines Shrine. The Christ of the Mines Shrine is a 12-ton, 16-feet tall marble statue of Jesus Christ overlooking the town of Silverton, up on Anvil Mountain on the north side of town. The shrine was built 54 years ago for prosperity and protection for the mining industry. I found an interesting article from the Silverton Standard titled How the Shrine Was Built. You can also click on the photo above to make it large enough to read the plaques. Tuesday, July 23, 2013.

Sunday, July 27, 2014. One evening last week we were at Alta Lakes so Jay could do some fishing. The fish weren't biting but I found some gold, a golden sunset! Hiking a Favorite Trail. Savanna and I hiked up to Hope Lake last Tuesday. I waited specifically for this week because I knew it would be time for the wildflowers to be at their peak. The weather was warm and sunny, and the perfect time to hike up into the alpine tundra. Beautiful views all around! Elk Out My Window. Monday, July 7, 2014. Here ar...

Sunday, July 27, 2014. Hiking a Favorite Trail. Savanna and I hiked up to Hope Lake last Tuesday. I waited specifically for this week because I knew it would be time for the wildflowers to be at their peak. The weather was warm and sunny, and the perfect time to hike up into the alpine tundra. There was a patch of snow just below Vermillion Peak where some kids were making summer snow angels. Beautiful views all around! What a vivd color of blue in that lake water! Sunday, August 11, 2013. The Springs Resort and Spa. At the end of a camping trip, our favorite place to treat ourselves to a little bit of luxury is The Springs Resort in Pagosa Springs. Savanna says this is her favorite place on earth. The silly girl is still wearing her bracelet pass from our trip there last September! Now she has two on her wrist since we spent the night there Thursday and enjoyed the pools for two days. A lot of people were enjoying tubing the much cooler San Juan River. We spent so...

Saturday, March 22, 2014. Welcoming Gus Kenworthy Home the Telluride Way. In Telluride we love any excuse to have a block party and play in the street, but this time it was a good excuse as we had a big party to welcome Gus Kenworthy home after winning Silver in the Winter Olympics for the first year of men's slopestyle! I think Gus learned how to ski at the age of 3, so before he could even read he was on the slopes of Telluride, and it definitely paid off. Maralee and Erika waited a very long time to g...
