Just if you didn't know my husband is probably the best husband in the world. Rick is SOOO great at remembering important dates and making me feel loved :) Today was the day we got engaged 5 years ago! I didn't remember. as usual and Rick did. as usual! Well after I got home from work Rick took me on a little adventure! As we pulled up to the "Draper Dome" I remembered what happened on this special day 5 years ago! Our son Riley was born on August 31, 2004 with a Complete Bilateral Cleft Lip and Palate. We were not prepared for his birth condition and so needless to say, we were terrified. The Toronto Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) took us under their wing and it has been an amazing journey ever since! We felt compelled to share our story with you in hopes that we can help overcome any or some of your fears. If we can reach just one family, then our efforts on this site are well worth it.
