India adventures !

Saturday, 8 August 2015. Last night ( Friday) after our 7 hour drive to Chittagorh - which we thought was only 4 hours- we reached our castle! The castle Bijapur was in the middle of the mountains in a tiny village. We had a huge greeting with men playing the drums and singing and playing Indian instruments as well as flower garlands being placed around a necks like we were true royalty! It was a really remote village with cows , pigs , dogs and sheep being the only ones to use the roads! After leaving C...

India adventures ! : The Taj Mahal

http://ourindiaadventures.blogspot.com/2015/08/the-taj-mahal.html

Monday, 3 August 2015. The sunrise light captured the essence of the Taj beautifully as the marble twinkled in the morning sun. Literally turning it into a spectacular glittering tomb. We were lucky enough to have our guide with us who I think is possibly a catwalk /Bollywood photographer on the side as he insisted on doing a photo shoot for us every few metres! From seeing the tomb this morning you completely get why the image of the Taj Mahal as been instilled in people's minds all over the world, you ...

India adventures ! : The blue city of Jodhpur

http://ourindiaadventures.blogspot.com/2015/08/the-blue-city-of-jodhpur.html

Saturday, 8 August 2015. The blue city of Jodhpur. Good morning from the blue city of Jodhpur! The city is famous for it's amazing rainbow of different shades of blue houses that are scattered everywhere. They say the blue is to keep bugs away as the bugs think the houses are water! There seem to be hundreds of forts and temples in India but the beautiful thing is that each one we go to seems to be entirely different than the last. There is such history behind all of them that I only wish I could see...

India adventures ! : Jodhpur

http://ourindiaadventures.blogspot.com/2015/08/jodhpur.html

Saturday, 8 August 2015. Sorry for the lack of blogging - have been away from wifi for a while staying in castles! So day 4 -. This morning at the halfway point of our 6 1/2 hour journey we stopped in a tiny village for some samosas and also samosas filled with lentils! I think the owner was the most popular man in the whole village as there was such a huge gaggle of people eating them as well as cows , birds and goats - so obviously they had to be good! I think most of the time in India you just have go...

Tuesday, 4 August 2015. The wonders of Jaipur. We are having such an incredible time so far, every moment is filled with such excitement and there are so many things to look at. I love the people , culture and all the different religions are so fascinating to learn about. India is a country filled with such contrast but I'm loving every minute . All the elephants were beautifully Decorated and each had it's own intricate face paint - not your usual butterflies! In the afternoon we went to see The City Pa...

Emma's Excursions: Halstead: the biggest little city in Kansas

http://emchrishawk.blogspot.com/2011/05/halstead-biggest-little-city-in-kansas.html

Thursday, May 5, 2011. Halstead: the biggest little city in Kansas. Greeted by this sign, each person coming into Halstead knows they are in for a treat. A 1.25 mile drive down blacktop 89 (the shortest highway in Kansas), crossing of the Little Arkansas River, and 2 1/2 block brick main street later, a person has seen almost the entirety of Halstead. 2 shy of $4500 now and at 75% of my goal! Thank you for praying because God is answering. I hope you enjoyed my first entry! Until next time,. Im excited a...
