ournomadicways: October 2011

http://www.ournomadicways.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html

Saturday, 22 October 2011. Wildflowers of WA part 3. I have taken to doing close up (macro) pics of the hundreds of flowers I see. I didn't realize how much I love looking at the different flowers WA has on offer. I'm always looking out for new flowers to photograph :). The macro setting on my camera has been fun. A macro pic of a flower shows the flower differently and in most cases they look more gorgeous :). Some flower plants are just a few cms high out of the sandy soil. Some areas of conservation w...

Sunday, 19 October 2014. Qld 2014 - Brisbane to Cape Hillsborough NP. Trip took some months with having to buy 2 specialist books on the area– Hema Maps Cape York Tour Guide and Ron and Viv Moon’s Cape York Adventures. Both books have a wealth of information necessary to prepare for such remote area travel. I also planned to include the east coast of Qld as it was a distant memory when we last visited with a flying visit with children in tow. The. Near Murgon was our 1. We also visited 1 of the local win...

Friday, 27 February 2015. Cooktown and The Atherton Tablelands. Cooktown is a small town approx 300 km north of Cairns via the Mulligan Hwy and is the nothernmost town on the east coast of Queensland. It is located at the bottom edge of Cape York Peninsula and on the mouth of the Endeavour River where James Cook beached his ship the Endeavour for repairs in 1770. Cooktown was founded in 1873 as a supply port for the goldfields along the Palmer River. Prior to this it was called Cook's Town until 1874.

We're into our 5th day of travel having completed 471 kms from Laura.there's just another 238kms to Bamaga, just south of Cape York tip. Both sections of the Bypass Roads took approx 2.5 hrs before reaching the Jardine River Ferry. Diesel fuel can be p...

Our Nomadic Life

Living our dreams. Making a Difference. Bike races, marathons, and leaping. 0160;Profound, right? Now bear with me for a minute while I explain my train of thought in all of this. 0160;- Let me stop here and just say that I realize life is a process and that I dont expect to have it all figured out in one tiny road trip - . Why havent I ever trained for a 206 mile bike race? Everyone is doing that too - or at least they have a sticker on their car that says they have. So why havent I? 0160;  -Jenny.

our nomadic sojourn

Wednesday, April 16, 2014. Harder than I thought. I have to say, it has been a hard go recently for me on an emotional level, mainly due to personality quirks of my own, being overwhelmed in a new situation, and having to rely so much on Lawrence. A We have been called to expand Grassroots into a new place. B Everything that is to come does not have to take place today. C I do not have to be comfortable one hundred percent of the time and know all the answers now. Saturday, July 6, 2013. We are so gratef...

Our Nomad Life - Our Life in Transition

Our Life in Transition. 19 Nov, 2014. We have certainly gotten our first real dose of the white stuff. First snow arrived on Halloween. It was fun getting to watch it snow and cover the ground. That snow melted within about 30 minutes, but it was so pretty for those 30 minutes. Now, we’ve gotten more snow than we know what to do with! Enjoying the Fall & Getting Ready for Winter. 22 Oct, 2014. I know, I know, I know. I’ve been slacking on writing a new post! Wow, We Did A Lot This Week. 21 Sep, 2014.
