CCN members all agreed good idea to try and establish a Foodbank in Oxford. 2005 Commissioned a six month feasibility study which was completed in September 2006. January 2007 launch event for feasibility study for stakeholders. There was a very positive response from stakeholders. Autumn 2007 publicity in Your Oxford. Location - The Oxford Foodbank. Contrary to appearances, Oxford is not all dreaming spires, champagne in punts and cobbled streets. Beneath the ivory towers are families struggling to survive in overpriced rented accommodation plus one of the largest groups of rough sleepers outside London. A foodbank would be a creative way to make use of food that would otherwise go to waste. It would be good for local businesses wanting to reduce the cost of waste going to landfill.
