Survivor of Seven: March 2013
http://survivorofseven.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
Saturday, March 16, 2013. Christmas is over, almost. This has been such a LONG and COLD winter. It snowed a lot just before Christmas and it was so cold that the snow didn't melt all winter. The ground was frozen too hard to pull out the stakes. Last week, the snow just about melted and then we got another huge storm that left us a foot of heavy wet cement snow. We had Spring make an appearance! Saturday, March 2, 2013. New Kids in Town. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. True Disciple...

Sunday, February 10, 2013. To Know Who You Are. I heard an old story a few years ago that has been heard around the world by billions of people, I'm sure. The author and title are unknown, but the morale of the story has always resonated within me. I think about that story often and compare it to the free agency in which we are given. ".whether the butterfly is dead or alive, it depends on you".it depends on us. it depends on me. How often do we encounter forks in the road? A home surrounded by trees as ...

Ramblings of Alex: June 2014

Saturday, June 7, 2014. My Student Teaching Experience. Back in December I flew over mountains, hills, and valleys to Northern Virginia. My plane arrived at the stroke of midnight on New Years Eve, or rather, New Years Day I suppose. Good luck or bad luck? Anyway, back on topic, the reason I went to Virginia was to student teach. Why Virginia, you ask? Cue the dramatic reaction). Nonetheless, I was grateful I had the opportunity to go back East and start the beginning of the end. (of my collage caree...

All roads lead home: May 2011
http://jo-stan.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
All roads lead home. Tuesday, May 31, 2011. Memorial Day in Texas. We went to Inks Lake today for a family outing. We paddled about a mile to a 20. Foot or so cliff we jump off. We borrowed a canoe since we don't have enough. Kayaks, but as soon as we got in it we found a leak from the winter. So Jana. Doubled up with Krystall in our tandem, and I put Austin on my kayak, which is. Not built for two. Lots of water on the kayak, but we made it. Coming back we. Yes, he did go up and jump about 10 more times.

Wednesday, February 5, 2014. My first official post living on the East Coast. I don’t really have an excuse for not updating my blog other than the fact that I just haven’t felt like it. I figured I better write this fast while I’m in the blogging mood, and before I get distracted by some meaningless task. I’m gonna be completely honest and say that moving to Virginia has been an adjustment, and a hard one at that. It’s not easy moving to a place where you know not a single soul. Excuse my wretched look&...

Ramblings of Alex: September 2013
http://alexhiatus.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 25, 2013. Shout out to my older brother. Earlier this month I was finally able to revisit NYC! I have my older brother, Jonny to thank for that. Why? Because the kid got into one of the top podiatry schools in the country! Way to make the rest of us look bad.just kidding. But really, my brother has crazy discipline, ambition, and the smarts. So for the next four years they will be calling New York home. Wish this kid could have been there with us, but he was there in spirit! The Secr...
