All good news from my visit to the haematologist today! I can stop one of my drugs and start reducing another and aim to stop it in about 2 months. That will leave an antiviral, a blood pressure tab and the HRT. Awesome. We now move to the next stage which is monitoring:. Graft versus Host Disease (which remains a threat albeit lesser than before).

Today is 2 years since I had the transplant! My bloods are all normal and I have no health problems at all. I can hardly remember being unwell and the effects of the chemotherapy are just a distant memory now. I thought I'd take this opportunity to find some great sayings about friendship:. Peter was there all the time making sure I didn't say bad things. Anyway, it will be a week or so before we get the results. They are looking to see if my bone marrow is now free of the original disease and that it is still my donor DNA and not mine. We still managed to get some shopping done after my short visit to the hospital. hehe, all good!

Wow it is 2011 and January is nearly half way gone! I was supposed to see the specialist in January but when I called to see when my appointment was, I was told I didn't have one. OK. so what did the specialist write in my notes? Something a bit ambiguous so we didn't make an appointment for you. OK. so when can I get seen? 11 and a half mths Mar 1.

Today I had a call from Richard, the Haematologist. He had been trawling through some blood results and saw mine, so gave me a call. Maybe he also noticed I was a no-show at my last appointment (doh! Got the days mixed up). Anyway the upshot is he says I can consider my disease cured. CURED! Tuesday, April 16, 2013.

Began conducting in 2003 before going completing a Master of Music at the University of Melbourne studying under John Hopkins, making his professional debut in 2005 conducting the National Tour of Bizet’s Carmen for Ozopera.
