The following are highlights of recent events. You may follow them in more details from our blog at. Decision was made to hold our 2nd fund raising dinner in October this year. A taskforce was set up to organize the function. A Facebook page was created to create better online awareness. It is at. The newly chartered Rotary Club of Seputeh, Kuala Lumpur gave a general donation of RM13,900 at its installation ceremony of the first president and committee on December 1. Read more in our blog.

In 2003 and 2004 we added on bakery and handicraft works to our skills training on top of straw packing. In 2011 we added on a training cafe to give hands on training of serving and hospitality skills to the trainees. The current enrolment is 22-25 trainees with 3 full time staff and about 12-15 volunteers assisting them. We try to level the playing field by giving the learning disabled a better chance to compete. Teaching our trainees to become self reliant, giving them the right to live meaningful and full lives with a hope of moving towards independent living and becoming competent members of society. To provide a holistic training to learning disabled people in the state of Negeri Sembilan with skills that promote their chances of becoming gainfully employed. The learning disabled are people too. 1 Why was PBSNS established? PBSNS was established to fulfill a need for families with learning disabled children. It was originally set up as the Pusat Berdikari Seremban (PBS) by the Wesley Methodist Church, Seremban. 'Pusat Berdikari' translate from Bahasa Malaysia as 'Centre for Self-Reliance'. 10 years later in 2008 PBS was transformed into PBSNS, a registered society run by Christians of Seremban but servicing the learning disabled of all races and social backgrounds. 2 What is your operating model?

Since our formation in 2008 we have provided training and employment opportunities to several trainees with learning disabilities in and around Seremban, Negeri Sembilan in Malaysia. We believe we live not only for ourselves and our families but also the needy in our communities. It was for this reason this Society was formed and is still thriving today.
