Pearl and friends in Half Moon Bay. Monday, July 8, 2013. America's Cup Shmerica's Cup. Home again, after motoring up from Half Moon Bay. We rode a 3 knot flood into the Golden Gate, in about 15 knots of wind. That was lovely. Home again, home again. We sailed home under jib alone, something I hadn't done before. I know it will keep the boat off balance in heavy seas, but we were sailing on the last of the flood and the water was smooth. It was lovely. The best part of the whole day: I docked Pearl alone!

But rather than disappoint those who find Pearl and yellowboat worthy of reading time, I'll try harder to post more often. Pearl and friends in Half Moon Bay. Monday, July 1, 2013. A magic and relaxing day in Monterey. Perfect vacation: sailing, paddling, dinner at Montrio in Monterey (all thumbs up) and movies. Last night we saw Before Midnight, tonight we'll see Much Ado About Nothing. I'm sure our husbands are grateful that we went without them. Okay, we got pushed a bit by the swells, but it was really fun. On the way to Lover's Point in low swells, with a local paddler. Breakfast for sea otters. View my complete profile.

Pearl and friends in Half Moon Bay. Saturday, July 6, 2013. Just traveling.Santa Cruz to Half Moon Bay. Not much to report today, 8 hours of motoring north to Half Moon Bay/Pillar Point Harbor. Disappointing that we will only be here overnight, I had hoped to anchor out and paddle around the outer harbor, but we didn't get here until 4:30 and the paddle boards are securely tied down on the bow, ready for tomorrow's departure for SF Bay and America's Cup racing.
