This colorado mom: learning along my way. Skip to primary content. July 31, 2014. For the first time in days. Alone in my home. For a few short hours. Rain has come again and again. I rest in my bed. I read. I write. I eat a little. I rest on the couch. I go for a walk,. Dainty flower cups holding droplets of rain. Yes, magnificent and holding up so well through the deluge. I run my hand along purple grasses. I wonder, does it get any lovelier? The Twenty-fourth of July, 2014 dawned sunny with blue skies.

Sunday, April 26, 2015. Frank picked up the girls then brought them to their dates. Mia: "Oh ya, I didn't try out.". This girl has nerves of steel, so I asked why she didn't even go to the tryout? Mia: "I didn't want to learn the stuff.". And, "I prayed about it and read the scriptures, and it said we shouldn't hide our talents, but then I just didn't feel good about it.". No possible way Getty is 16. 2:00 am Kidnappers burst through Getty's bedroom door, stuffed a sock in his mouth, tied his wrists and ankles, wrapped him in a hammock to blind him, threw him in the trunk of a car, and took off. Destination: iHOP. It could have been worse. Their original plan was to knock down the door, guns blazing (paintball guns filled with CO2). But during the trial run, they decided against it, as it would likely wake up the neighborhood. Cute party crashers :).

Friday, April 6, 2012. As I try to wrap my head around Elle's future, I ask the doctors for some kind of benchmark to measure her progress against. They tell me that if she remains stable until the end of the week, they can take her off of life support and will have a much better idea of what her long-term issues will be. While the day starts well and the plan is to allow Elle to wake up again in order to assess her neurological and brain function, by late Tuesday afternoon, Rob and I get shattering news.

For her 69th birthday, we managed to round up five of the six and their families in my backyard. The human slingshot Rob made at work for the kids. Mia's face, haha. Maisie tried to photobomb this pic a couple of times. And this is what Mia thought about that. She was kidding ;). Riding the neighbor's dog. These two came from New Mexico and Las Vegas.
