That said, I don’t think it matters how comfortable I am here, I will always be shocked by the general state of bathrooms in Peru. Maybe I’m letting my ignorant American show and I just don’t realize what a luxury it was to grow up with seats on all the toilets in my house, but it’s something I will never understand. I had two ceremonies, then packed up all my bags and flew home. Leaving wasn’t nearly as emotional as I though it would be. I loved living in DC for four years, but that was enough for me.
