MUSIC HERMENEUTICS BLAH BLAH BLAH. WRITTEN IN THE 90'S:There use to be music on this site that I wrote over 38 years ago. Some of it, well maybe most of it, was laughable. That's ok. Laughing is a good thing. Like my car, if it makes you laugh, your less apt to blow my head off to steal it, right(? So laugh, I can take it, I think. Laugh at my psycho-eclecticism and funny phases. They were for the most part, honest attempts at claiming the psychic sound nebuli of my mind heart and soul.

WHY A PUBLIC PIANO PROJECT:. The PUBLIC PREPARED PIANO evens the playing field. Non-piano-players can easily perform as well. It actually sounds a lot like a Gamelan Orchestra. There are NO WRONG NOTES. And playing virtuostically fast actually sounds kinda muddy. Slow and hypnotic is best. With a couple people at the keyboard it becomes an INSTANT DRUM AND GONG CIRCLE. WRITTEN 1992: Why am I doing this U-JAM/PUBLIC PIANO thing? Why use experimental instruments. Or a prepared-piano, or hide underneath and make noise? Why put it on a web-site? I've asked myself these questions as well as whether this is all some kind of altruistic farce. Is my ego really sitting there on my shoulder posing as an angel patting me on the back, tickling me along? If you know any physics invent a phone! Another curious performance art question?

WRITTEN 1992: When I was in graduate school I built an instrument called the ACOUSTISIZER. It's been nearly 30 years since that night but I think I finally have an answer or at least a theory or maybe just a proposal:. You know how flocks of birds, schools of fish, swarms of bees, move and dance across the sky and through the water together, in unison. It almost seems as if some kind of energy connects them all together. If you've ever been in a jam session or drum circle something similar happens.

I came into this world in Appalachia Ohio in a four room house that had yet to discover indoor plumbing. By the age of ten I was playing everything I heard and was entertaining my peers, parents and social groups of every facet imaginable. Now over 50 years later I am still at it, entertaining fellow seniors and diners from Alabama to the flatlands of central Ohio.
