Pints with Petch: March 2012
http://www.pintswithpetch.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Welcome to the world of beer from the female perspective. You can call me The Lager Lady. The Girl with the Pint. Wednesday, March 28, 2012. A Fest for the Best. This past weekend I had the pleasure of attending Hamilton's Food and Drink Fest. After winning tickets from my fellow social media junkie Zoe Social. What a treat it was! First up was Railway City Brewing. To taste their Roundhaus Pilsner. Second stop was at the Big Rock Brewery. Booth to try their Lime Light Lager. Moral of the story is, festi...

Welcome to the world of beer from the female perspective. You can call me The Lager Lady. The Girl with the Pint. Monday, February 27, 2012. This week's taster: Clown Shoes Clementine White Ale. Let me begin by saying I'm down in Naples, Florida for the week for a vacation and a visit with my parents. Well, my parents, knowing about my blog, scoped out the Total Wines. The first one I tried was by a brewery named Clown Shoes, which I thought was a hilarious name. They had a lot to choose from, includ...

Welcome to the world of beer from the female perspective. You can call me The Lager Lady. The Girl with the Pint. The Girl with the Pint. After my first pint of Guinness. Working away at a PR agency and living in the wonderful city of Toronto, I feel like options are endless for places to grab a pint and people to introduce me to new brews. So here I am, trying to fill that void in the Google search. The (self-proclaimed) Lager Lady. The views expressed on this blog are my own. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Welcome to the world of beer from the female perspective. You can call me The Lager Lady. The Girl with the Pint. Sunday, July 15, 2012. Rolling in the Deep. Adele can take a seat for this one, because I'm referring to my summer beer of choice this week. It's fresh, crisp and a nice clean taste. Not too strong, it's a great pint for a hot afternoon on a patio if you are looking for that 'ahhhhh'-refreshing moment. Posted by Claire Petch. July 16, 2012 at 12:08 AM. You know that a cold Rolling Rock may al...

Welcome to the world of beer from the female perspective. You can call me The Lager Lady. The Girl with the Pint. Monday, January 14, 2013. Well, here I am with all those other New Year's resolution makers. Mine is to begin blogging again (and this one I will make stick). It is hard to pin down what solidified this resolution. Perhaps a trip to Bier Market. Tweeted that they were looking for beer bloggers. How could any girl resist something that made her think of sequins and puppies? Links to this post.

Katzendame: Auto litter boxes: helpful or hostile?
http://katzendame.blogspot.com/2012/02/hello-kittens-this-week-im-doing.html
Sunday, 19 February 2012. Auto litter boxes: helpful or hostile? This week, I’m doing something a little different. My mother’s birthday is coming up, and seeing as she is a major Katzendame like me, I’m considering a cat-related gift. Upon searching, I came across a self-cleaning litterbox. Now, I don’t know if any of you have ever seen one of these things in action, but it’s a pretty neat concept. There seem to be a few different models, each baring a different pricetag. Still in demo process. I find t...

Talk about spreading kindness. Sunday, 11 March 2012. As a child, I happily carried my little orange UNICEF box as I trick-or-treated my way from house to house on Halloween. I felt good about collecting coin donations in that little box, and bringing the jingling box of coins to school the next day to send off to UNICEF. Oh, doesn't thinking sound complicated? It's a good thing I learn things on YouTube sometimes. Today I came across a new video on Unicef Canada's YouTube channel. March 12, 2012. Althou...
The Neph Diaries: Making your home your dogs too
http://thenephdiaries.blogspot.com/2013/03/making-your-home-your-dogs.html
Friday, March 15, 2013. Making your home your dogs too. Me and my little guy. We can all agree we want our new dog to feel at home but we need to realize this doesn't happen over night. Your brand new puppy isn't going to feel safe and secure those first few nights away from his mom but that doesn't mean it needs to stay that way. As Neph's new parents, Derek and I took it upon ourselves to make our home, Neph's too. Derek made him his own little play pen with a bed and his food dishes and a blanket.

Sunday, 18 March 2012. The Cat Man of Parliment Hill. A certain wabbit informed me of this lovely man he met in Ottawa a few years ago. After a quick Google search, I realised that others have taken notice of the Cat Man. Have a gander at this article written about him in 2008 in the Ottawa. They’re finding out the so-called Cat Man is possibly more entertaining than his feline charges. The descendants of the cat colony worked inside the Parliament Buildings doing natural pest control until chemicals too...

Charitable Community: February 2012
http://charitablecommunity.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Talk about spreading kindness. Monday, 27 February 2012. Another week has come and gone, and all week long I noticed the goodness in people around me. It was many little things that could go unnoticed, but instead, were noticed. It was efforts to laugh at others' jokes when the jokes weren't very funny, to give gifts when they were unexpected, to give a hand to hold when a hand was needed. It was a beautiful friend reaching out to me, sending an email to let me know she was thinking of me. I recently saw...

Talk about spreading kindness. Sunday, 5 February 2012. It’s February once again. And, it’s Heart Month in several countries. In Canada, the Heart and Stroke Foundation’s goal for the end of February 2012 is to reach 1 million actions that will “Make Death Wait.” These actions can involve healthy meal planning, walking, running, donating, and volunteering. After all, it truly is about people. Of course, I want to mention the volunteers. The Heart and Stroke Foundation has thousands of volunteers who ...

Sunday, 26 February 2012. Adoption Profile: Lionheart * ADOPTED! When I entered the Niagara Falls Humane Society's Adoption Centre in Niagara Square, it was difficult to not get lost in the mews and purrs of a dozen or so lovely and unique felines. But I was on a mission. I approached one of the volunteers and told them I was looking for a very specific cat. "Please show me the cat that has been here the longest," I asked, "the one who deserves a home so much but just hasn't caught a break.". Lionheart w...

Talk about spreading kindness. Sunday, 18 March 2012. Today at the grocery store a few men were discussing which type of frozen french fries to buy: crinkle cut or straight cut. I couldn't help but think that it's a very Canadian problem to worry about which type of food to eat instead of worrying about if there will. Any food to eat. But, it was only a fleeting thought because I knew I was wrong. People that struggle with poverty. I recently came across the Facebook page. If you would like help in CTFC'...

Just another WordPress.com site. Beer Snobbery Can Suck It. Bull;July 8, 2011 • Leave a Comment. I love beer in all forms, shapes, sizes and brands. The same can be saidabout my love of the fine liquors. Recently I have been trying to rebel against an increasingly bad problem I am finding in the vast world of drinking: snobbery. Now I get that everyone has an opinion, and they are free to express it. However, I am beginning to notice that anytime somebody checks in a Bud Light on Untappd. 8221; Well, beer...
