Searching for the Kingdom in unexpected places. November 19, 2011. Most of the teaching in the church that I grew up in was focused on propositions and ideas rather than stories. Don’t get me wrong, there were stories involved. The preacher in the church that I grew up in was a broad-shouldered country man named Buck. If you keep digging deeper into this perspective, evangelism is something very integrally human. So many of our well-intentioned ideas about evangelism feel an awful lot like marketing strategies, as if the King of all creation needs a new public relations firm. I'm no Superman.
