Saturday, September 20, 2014. Enjoying the Seasons of Mattamuskeet. Here are some of the seasons we have enjoyed while being here in Mattamuskeet. After the hurricane a lot of the sweet corn got destroyed. So a co-worker of Keith told us to go harvest what we could. The stuff standing behind us is Maize and is stronger it took on the hurricane better then the sweet corn. But we got a freezer full of sweet corn. One of our harvests, we made a few trips when we had time. I got about a gallon from ONE bush.

Ramos Tribe Adventures: Mattamuskeet National Wildlife Refuge

http://www.ramostribeadventures.blogspot.com/2014/09/mattamuskeet-national-wildlife-refuge.html

Wednesday, September 10, 2014. Mattamuskeet National Wildlife Refuge. Welcome to our Refuge! Here are some things you will see when visiting our home! This is what we call The Lodge. It used to be a community hall where many community activities took place. It is owned by the state and sadly is not in use any more because of lack of money for renovations. It is a beautiful building and the Light house is actually an old smoke stack in disguise! The boys love it here! I love the view from my yard. Even if...

We are learning everything we can about the land and people around us. Here are some things about North Carolina:. North Carolina is the FRIENDLIEST STATE! The Blue crabs are giant he...

Ramos Tribe Adventures: October 2013

http://www.ramostribeadventures.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html

Tuesday, October 22, 2013. May the FORCE be with you! It is our birthday season again. Kaden and Isaiah are both born in the fall so this time of year is full of birthday planing. Every year I tell myself "Tabitha, go small" "Don't go Extreme" But I never take my own advise. Well this year is no different. Maybe because I want my children to have an awesome birthday or maybe because secretly I want to make the coolest cake I can! How hard can it be to make a tall R2D2 cake with Rice Krispie Treat legs?
