Red Squirrels at St Marys Church Stannington. Squirrel visits to the feeder station in the churchyard. The figures below represent the amount of activations to the camera by the squirrel attending the feeder during 2012-2013. I have included a pie chart of all squirrel visits in a 12 month period to one feeder in the churchyard during 2012-2013 to my amazement there has been over 33,000 visits to the feeder by reds since we started recording the data. This footage shows two baby reds, one hiding inside the feeder one trying to get in! The photographs above were taken by Red Squirrels Northern England when they visited the churchyard. Red Squirrels at St Marys Church Stannington. Our Conservation work at St Mary's. Both feeders were an instant hit and within a month we had three red squirrels visiting them on a daily basis. We filled the feeders with monkey nuts and hazelnuts and also tried sunflower seeds and raisins, however these were not so successful our reds had developed a liking for the more expensive type of nut! Sightings were limited to a sheet of paper in the church were visitors could note down any sightings of reds.
