Me veit at det har vore busetnad på Reksteren i det minste frå bronsealderen, men truleg fanst det rekstringar lenge før det. Beskyttande skog og nærleik til sjøen både som ferdsleåre og matressurs gjorde øya attraktiv for dei tidligaste nordmenn. Etter kvart kom fjordabåtane, og det vart mogeleg å kome seg til Bergen utan å segle - eller ro! Det var i denne perioden at bergensarar oppdaga Reksteren som feriestad. Strand...

Elles er det m a eit smoltanlegg, ein mindre vindusfabrikk og eit anlegg for produksjon av hundemat. Og sjølvsagt ein del sjølvstendig næringsdrivande; handverkarar, entreprenørar o.l., som ofte kombinerer dette arbeidet med deltidsjordbruk.

På Flygansvær, med utsyn heilt ut i havet, ligg restane etter eit av tyskarane sine forsvarsverk frå andre verdskrigen. Her er óg satt opp ein informasjonstavle som fortel ein del om området og kva som gjekk føre seg her. I dag beitar mjølkekyrne rundt betongkonstruksjonane, så om du tek ein tur rundt på området, hugs å lukke grinda etter deg. Gravplassen på Hope. På vegen frå Hope til Ho...Gravkart ...

LENGD og TIDSBRUK: 5,6 km tur/retur, opp mot to timar. Dalstuva (336 moh) er høgste toppen på Reksteren. Ta til høgre og følg fylkesvegen ca 50 m, og ta så til venstre og inn på skogsvegen. Der stigen tek av frå skogsvegen, har det vore ei kolmile på venstre side av vegen. START og PARKERING: Gjøvågskrysset, parkering langs fylkesvegen.

Verd å vite. Verd å vitje. Bu på Reksteren. Sjøfiske er naturlegvis fritt frå kvart eit nes og kvar ei bryggje - og frå båt om du har ein. Men òg i ferskvatna finst det fisk. Denne ressursen er i utgongspunktet eigedomen til grunneigarane, men langs turstigane rundt både Frøkedalsvatnet og Skrudalsvatnet kan du fiske fritt, og stigane går fleire stader heilt ned mot gode fiskeplassar langs vatna. Auren er mest liten, og dei minste slukane er dei beste.

Make a new layer to create the fire in the stick. trace it and stroke it then color it. Give color to the stick and give that words with 'orlando' fonts.
