Thursday, April 10, 2014. Around April 1st each spring I get a case of hitch itch and need a change of scenery. Depending on mother nature, its usually mid April before I actually get moving. Again this year it was a game of waiting out the wind storms in NM and the late season snow storms in CO, to find a window of time that would get me here without any weather worries. Sunday, May 11, 2014. The snow pack and water supply is about 80% of normal up in the higher elevations, but only 60% down here in the valley. Wildfires will be a concern again this summer, depending on summer rainfall amounts. Rev 2 - we got away with only a trace of snow from Sun nights portion of this storm. Tuesday, April 21, 2015. We had an uneventful winter season down at the NM ranch. Spring arrived early this year, in both NM and Colorado. So we packed our bags and made our annual trek north a bit early this year. We drove the motorhome up here last week, getting the summer home opened, turned on and cleaned out. The Colorado forecast was for a 3 day winter storm, so we headed back down to the warmth of NM and brought our toy hauler up here, rather than sit around watching the snow flakes.

Wednesday, May 6, 2015. The snow fall in our nearby mountains was well below avg this past winter, and with the early spring warm temperatures, much of that snow is already long gone. This effects not only the local farming community, but also raises the wild fire concerns for later this summer. So no one is complaining that we had an all day soaking rain yesterday.
